I recently purchased a G-Dec 3 Thirty Metal Edition with the fancy camo cover. Since I'm not really into metal I swapped the backing tracks and now have the blues edition. I should mention that the GDec 30 is an amazing device and I look forward to practicing everyday to the cool backing tracks!

Two questions: 1) When I try to install the original factory presets to replace the blues presets, it never works. I've tried two different SD cards, formatted them and followed the provided instructions. Is it possible that the downloadable files are either corrupted or incomplete?

2) Optimally,I would want some of the blues backing tracks, some of the rock backing tracks and some of the country backing tracks. How can this be accomplished?

Hi and welcome!
You're quite right - the GDec 3 is a great amp 8)
As to question 1...could be, especially if you got the blues edition makeover to work.
The easiest way (i think) to modify the tracks on your GDec is to access it via your computer. Use the utility menu on the amplifier to get to usb drive and press enter to start.
I'm using a pc laptop with Win7 and once connected, explorer gives me 2 separate windows: one for the amp HD (called G-DEC) and another for the SD card that I have in the amp (called G-DEC SD).
Your band tracks are in the Audio folder and you can replace them with others, keeping in mind that there's not a lot of storage space on the HD. Most use a SD card to store extra band tracks and presets.
Once you've changed your backing tracks, you'll have to associate each new band track with your preset of interest.
If you haven't already got it, the advanced GDec3 manual may be downloaded here

cheers,

Thanks for your help. I'm finally getting around to trying it. Is there a simple way to find out which presets match which backing tracks?

I found this in the Fender Support section, searching G Dec3....

There's a lot of other useful information in the Support area as well.
Enjoy!
