Not at all. I think the Mustang series kinda took over is why they discontinued it. It is too bad. A great and fun amp.

None of us have access to sales figures, but hey, my guess would be that it did fine. Obviously, it didn't do spectacular, otherwise we'd be looking at the G-DEC 4 today.

I have no plans of selling mine (I've got the 30 watt version), not because I think it's going to be any collector's item, but because I really like that amp. 8)

+1 to that, my thoughts exactly. Bundled with Fuse, you can create lots of different sounds and you don't have to remember which foot pedal is on or off...let alone find them in your pedal board 8)

I think the G-DEC 3 is superior to the Mustang line... except that the Mustang line has amps that come with gig-able wattages (the III, IV and V.) Mustang amps cannot play backing tracks, cannot hold SD cards with unlimited amounts of presets, and have no looper.

I think the G-DEC was primarily intended to be a practice amp and a teaching instrument. My personal belief, which I am sure Fender would never verify, is that the G-DEC 3 Fifteen and Thirty were taking sales away from the Mustang I and II.

I don't think the G-Dec 3 was a flop.In fact I use one in addition to the mustang amps and it has served me well.
Recently,I did a house party, and loaded with backing tracks, played the G Dec through a PA and had a great night and awesome sound too!

There's a market for this type of equipment for the budding "one man band"musicians, guitar teachers and of course bedroom practice. I know one can use mp3 players but it's more hastle setting up things and that's the purpose of the G Decs in the first place!
