I've done a search and could not find an answer to this question. There is no external speaker conection on the G-DEC 3 THIRTY. Can an extension speaker be added; and how would one go about it?

Are you saying, there is no way?

That's correct, with a factory-stock model.

I'm thinking someone with a screwdriver and soldering iron, and someone who doesn't mind violating their warranty, might have some input...

I'm thinking the reason they didn't do that is because of the small tweeter in the amp that accents the 10" speaker to give the clean sound needed for the backing tracks. Might be a little muffled with just a single speaker ext. Just my thoughts of course.

Frank,

I would wager that you'd be correct. Now, if the Line Out could be selected to send only the guitar signal...an option that would be kind of a reverse of how it is now...that would be cool! 8)

Now that would work for sure. Your idea of a little altering in the back for a direct speaker output would get it. Never had the nerve to open the back up to see what is in there. I'm actually using that line output to go into my Bose system.

I have Fender G-DEC 30, is this different to the 3-30?
There are two output sockets at the back of my amp; is this what is needed or am I in error?

Hi galadriel,
On my GDec3-30, the 2 outputs are clearly labelled as line outs; is this the case in yours? If so, then they are line level output signals which can be fed to an external amplifier(s) such as a PA system. They are not outputs for external speakers.
hth,
Alex

I've solved my problem without having to tamper with the G-DEC. Since I am also a bass player I used a Y-cable to tie in both outputs on my G-DEC 3 THIRTY and am running them into the Express Send of my Kustom bass amp. This is great because it bypasses the Kustom's preamp going right into the power amp. This way I have a 200w powered 15" speaker that I can dial in as much bottom as I want.

Also, the Kustom has an external speaker jack so I can hook up my old Dual Showman cabinet with two JBL D130Fs and run the tweeter, the Eminence Ragin' Cajun 10" speaker I put in my G-DEC, the 15" bass speaker in the Kustom and the two JBL 15 inchers... Sonic heaven.

I hope others find this information useful.
