I just bought the G Dec 3 30.

Everything on the amp seems relatively intuitive EXCEPT the SD card. What is all that available storage for? - No how-to for Dummies anywhere.

I want to copy mp3 tracks to the music folder on the SD card and practice them from there. But the amp doesn't see them (or I can't find them).

Instead of the 30 or so seconds recording on the amp, I would like to use the SD card for jam recordings. This doesn't seem possible?

LASTLY: if the amp has 99 presets, does it mean its storage/memory/whatever is full and I would have to delete some of those 99 presets in order to add more? - What's the deal here?

Maybe this is where all the complaints about this otherwise very nice amp's layout came from. The-whatever-is-already-on-there is pretty intuitive to figure out, but importing/exporting stuff does not seem to translate well from the typical computer procedures such as copy, import, export, save as, etc.

Help.

Hi az, welcome to the forum!

The 99 presets can be modified (or deleted and replaced, they can't be empty); likewise for the band tracks associated with those presets. (Although a preset can have no band track.)

Anyway, the basic process to play your specific band track with any preset involves a couple of things. Here's a thread with a similar question to yours: http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=70586

So, as Alex indicated in that thread, get the advanced manual, see page 11, and after that, to access your music, see page 7.

But here's the short version:
Format SD card using G Dec
Connect SD card to your computer, add your mp3 or wav files to the SD Card's Audio folder
Plug SD card back into G Dec
Scroll to your preset of choice, press Band soft key, select MP3/WAV, press File soft key
Scroll to your band track, hit play!

Enjoy! :)

Thanks, ARX320, for the link and the shortcut instructions! I just discovered another useful thread, re: how to unlock the memory. That will probably prove helpful too : )
Best,
Az
