I have this amp two days. Day one, it worked fine. I loaded all the software and the amp and computer sync'd up great. Day two, not so good. The amp turns on but does not "boot' up. The Fender logo comes on the screen, but thats it. The amp is dead. Also, there is no link to my laptop. Please help. I like this amp for the day it worked and I really don't want to go through the hassle of shipping this thing back. Is there a master reset or something???

In terms of DIY options:

I assume you tried powering on the amp without the USB connection to your PC?

Fender Tech Support mentioned in a recent post (linked below) about holding down the exit button during power up as a way to get the amp back to factory settings... might be worth a shot? http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=75580

You could also try reflashing the firmware from an SD card http://www.fender.com/support/articles/my-fender-g-dec-3-seems-to-be-malfunctioning

Or you could call Fender TSL at 480-596-7195, or email them.

Good luck!

Hi OCarroll,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having some challenges with your new amp. The press/hold Exit button is a good thought. However, it is a restore procedure for the Fender Mustang series amps and not the Fender G-DEC 3. Since you just got the amp, I would suggest going back to the music dealer and doing an exchange. And please let us know if we can assist further. Thanks.
