I'm a new 3-Thirty user. Looking at buying an SD or SDHC card for the amp. I want as much storage capacity as possible...

The official Q&A page says this: "Although SDHC cards with more than 8 GB capacity may work, they are not officially supported at this time."

Is anyone using an SD/SCHC card bigger than 8 GB successfully? If so, how big and what brand?

Thanks!

Bill

I'm using a 16 gig SDHC Patriot card. No problem at all.

Wow, 16GB? That is a crapload of music!

Lessee...some quick math...average size...say 5MB...

100 songs would be 500MB...so...roughly 3200 songs!

Cool! Wait, more math...if you played 20 a night, every night....You could start in January, and finish up at the end of June!

Good one!
I only have an 8GB sdhc card in my GDec and it's only about half full and I have trouble finding songs at times. My arthritic wrists and failing mental powers at work
As an aside, I had a 16GB card that I was going to put into the amp, but put it into a camera that I bought for my wife's birthday. It can hold (at max resolution) approximately 8500 photos. Double holy crap!!!
Good luck sorting through that if you don't take them off the camera in a timely fashion!

I'm thinking of getting a smaller SD card than my 8GB, simply because it's tedious to sort through all the backing tracks I have piled in there when looking for something in particular.

HA! you guys are funny. Actually that 16 gig card was in my camera for the HD vids it can take. But the 4 gig I have in there now works just fine. You could definitly do an all nighter with that 16 gig card for sure

Seriously! Never thought of the actual math of how many songs a gig is! Although I do have nearly 200 in my song book. Guess 8 should do fine! :)

You could always do extended versions of the songs...like the Grateful Dead or like some of the early Cream songs with a 10 minute drum solo! That would chew up the space!
Ah, the excesses of the 60's
Good question, by the way 8)
cheers,
Alex
