according to the instruction manual for the G-DEC 30, one of its features allow you to hook your cd player up to it via an RCA plug and seperate the guitar riffs and lead solos from whatever song (unless i'm just extremely confused) and slow said riffs and solos to half speed for ease of learning. the problem is the instruction manual doesnt tell you HOW to do this. can anyone help on this matter?

I don't have the answer but I do agree the info from fender it is lackluster at best. For me a starting over guitar player, middle aged, tight for time, it would be nice to refer to a good manual instead of spending all my time trying to look for a feature and not practicing.

There is a Tips guide on 'mygdec.com.' You will find it in the file repository under Gdec.

You will need a cable with 1/8 inch stereo on one end and 2 male RCA jacks on the ohter end. Plug one en in the headphones out on the CD player and the other to the 2 female RCA jacks on the back of the amp.

On the Gdec, the Aux volume is the first item on the Utility menu; The Gdec 30 moved it to a knob on the amp face in think. Turn this up half to 3/4s the way up and turn the volume on the CD player as low as it will go.

Start the CD. After the counter is moving, add volume at the CD player until you have volume at the amp.

On the gdec 30 you have the additional problem of going through the utility menu to make sure "All sources" is selected for the speaker.

I just got a G-Dec 30 for Christmas. I love that I can just plug in pick a rythm pattern and start playing. But I am a little dense when it comes to some of the other features. For instance I am trying to just find a metronone to use. I see by the booklet that it has 4 different ones to choose from, but I can not figure out how to get to them. If there is a more in depth manual, one for us not so tech savvy, I could sure use it.

As above, look in Mygdec.com for the tips guide - "G-Dec Deep r4"

Press drum, this will open the drum menu. Use the silver knob to scroll through the 50 selections. The full list of drum patterns is in the instruction manual I think.

Pressing drum again will allow you to change tempo. Each time you press drum, you will get the next perameter from the drum menu.

Thanks for the idea, I tried it and it takes me through all of the drum patterns but it does not give me just a metronome. I am trying to find a metronome and the manual says there are 4, but it does not tell you how to get to one of them.
