1) Associate a Preset with numerous MP3 files that are not selected as a Band track for a preset.
I would really love it if I could assign certain amp types to mp3/band tracks outside of them being in a preset.
It would be awesome to hit the quick access button, scroll through my SD card MP3 files, select the song that I want and have it automatically select a preset that I previously associated with it.
Currently you can only do the reverse, have an amp and select one band track for it.

2) Edit MP3 file settings when they are not a Band track of a preset.
Similar to the above suggestion, I would love to be able to edit the settings of the MP3 files that are on the SD card (or the internal hard drive). Like repeat or pitch or slow down/speed up.

3) Add a few User preset storage. Probably not possible since we have the 100 preset limit but maybe for your next version, it would be nice to be able to create a few presets and save them to positions without overwriting a preset you paid for (even tho they are not all to everyone's taste and I'm sure we can all overwrite a few without concern).

4) Fix the tuner - Using my plug in tuner and then comparing to my G-DEC 3 15 tuner, it does seem that some notes are 'out'.
It would be ideal if we were able to trust this thing to be exact on the tuning.

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin...
Out of curiousity, how do you know that the tuner on the GDec is off as opposed to the plug in tuner?
Welcome to the forum!
cheers,
Alex

Hi Guys,

The tuner on the Fender G-DEC 3 series amps should be accurate within +/- 3 cents. (martinf64) If you are seeing a large inaccuracy with the tuner, you may want to contact us for some further support and troubleshooting. Thanks.

Thanks for your replies.

Yes, it is a chicken/egg thing - it was a 30$ Korg tuner with a new battery - I just assumed it was accurate.
Also I had heard others on the forum (who are more musically gifted than myself) mention the tuning, which caused me to suspect it and double check it.
Personally I cannot tell by ear unless things are WAY out.

I recently got a used Pod XT which has a tuner, so I'll triple check the tuning there and see what's what.

I'm no longer using the same old cheap guitar, I have a nice new Fender American Deluxe :-)

Martin,

Here's another option for you as well:

Fender Online Tuner

Good luck!

Martin...
Congrats on the new guitar!
Like you, I have more than one tuner...GDec, a Boss tuner, an electric piano (not so portable!) and my old trusty A440 tuning fork...and each gives a slightly different result - at least to my old ears. So I stick to the GDec so that all 3 of my guitars are in tune with each other...tho' this is a bit harder with the acoustic :)
I should add Jeff's option to the mix as well :D
cheers,
Alex

I dont' trust myself to tune by ear yet...but I do have access to some pretty high-end scopes at work that could probably tell me exactly who is right...

We'll have to see about that...

That's a good idea...if you do it, please report back on your findings.
In the meantime, I ran across this video of Neil Young tuning his Les Paul. The video is 240p - low quality - but I like Neil's approach to tuning...enjoy 8)

edited...forgot the link  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzppXYKyhZY

I love Neil Young....Perfect!

Cross referencing my GDEC and my electronic Korg tuner and my used Pod XT, I would now say that GDEC is pretty darn close.

The American Deluxe is now due for a setup so we'll have to see how things are after the setup.

I still would love to be able to set play parameters on any tune without it being assigned as a Band Track.

Also, I've recorded myself and the tune I'm currently playing with the dub feature...
But it would be nice to be able to hit Record...and then hit the Start button on the QA wheel to start the selected track playing.
Right now I have to hit Start to get my mp3 to play...and then hit record...and usually by then I've missed the first few bars of the song.

This is where a personal assistant comes in handy :)
Or 5 or 6 hands :D or, 2 hands and 2 feet :?
Actually, all kidding aside, how about importing your mp3 (or could be wav) track into a sound editing program and adding a countdown intro...like Lawrence Welk...a one and a two..and so on. You could re edit your combined track and remove the intro. I use a program called Goldwave for quick editing...it also has a record function.
Thanks for the tuner update...good info 8)
Alex
