I wonder if fender is going to come out with a new version of the G-DEC maybe a G-DEC 4?
I would like to see the gain, treble, mid, bass and master volume controls mounted on the front panel and i would also like to see some higher watt models like a 75w or 100w stereo G-DEC.

Maybe someone from fender can answer my question?

What do you guy's think about a possible new G-DEC 4?

Maybe make a Frontman or Hot Rod amp with
added G-DEC electronics & SD/Card features.
The idea with the 10"/30w and the 8"/15w G-DECs (IMHO) is for quality practice amps
with headphone jacks and play-along electronics (SD-Card Slot).

I have two Marshall amps that have the CD-player input, Headphone input,
and some other cool features.

Today, I just purchased a 38w Frontman with a headphone jack.
I own the G-DEC and a Peavey 30w Vypyr, both with headphone jacks.
Mostly, IMHO, solid state amps will have the special electronics.
There are special effects on the Fender Supersonic amps.

Toppscore :)

Toppscore, what G-DEC 3 do you have is it the 15 or 30w? I ask this because i have the 30w and i also have the peavey vypyr 30w and my vypyr is much louder then my G-DEC 3 30,if i have my vypyr's master volume set at 2 it is just as loud or louder then my G-DEC 3 30 with it's volume set at 7 or 8.

Why do you think that the vypyr 30 is so much louder then the G-DEC 3 30 being that these amps have the same wattage ratings?

I have the G-DEC 30 Thirty ~ 1x10 30w.
I have not done an A/B with the Vypyr 30w "amp head" as right now
I use the headphone jack. I will be testing it down the road with speaker amp cabinets.

MetalMan. Is your Peavey Vypyr an amp head or a combo amp?
I feel there are big differences in volumes when comparing a combo amp
and an amp head through a speaker cabinet. Toppscore :)

Anyway, I have both the G-DEC-3-Thirty and the Peavey Vypyr 30w amp head.
I really do like them both for their solid state electrionics features,
headphone jacks and their great small practice or home type gig possibilities.
Also, both are fantastic to play back tracking music. Toppscore :)

I've been wondering this myself. I owned the G-DEC3 Thirty twice. I sold the second one a few months ago because I needed the cash. I often reflect that it was probably the perfect amp for me in terms of features and power. I play mostly at home for personal enjoyment and it is unequalled in that role. The design and concept has room for further development, so I am hopeful that Fender has a new and improved version waiting to be announced sometime soon. NAMM 2013 is less than 5 months away.

The G-DEC3 series was released in early 2010 with a pretty aggressive world-wide marketing campaign and spawned peripheral products such as the Hal Leonard "Play Along" series of books designed specifically for the amp. In 2011, they expanded the line to include models with different cosmetics and loaded with different backing tracks (all recorded by real A-list musicians, no less). I have to imagine that it has been a successful product line for Fender and one that they have invested heavily in. l like to believe that Fender will refresh the line with new models rather than let it die out completely without comment.

One thing I do know is that if and when a "G-DEC4" is released, I will be among the first in line to purchase one. High on my list of desired features for a new model is the ability to turn on and off individual effects within a patch-- a feature that was introduced on the Mustang III/IV/V amps.

-Mike

Yes, Mike. I am with you.
The G-DEC is great for what it is.
Any amp with a headphone jack, master volume or
can use my Weber Mass 200, are my kind of amps.

You won't hear anything official until Fender makes a public official announcement on a new product.

Word is that the G-DEC will be discontinued as a line and it's features folded into the Mustang amp range in future.

Hoping the G-DEC 3-Thirty & FUSE software will continue to be supported.
Will we get to turn in our G-DECs for Mustangs????

*sigh* About a year ago this chatter started, people started panicking about getting "ripped off" for buying a new amp that Fender allegedly discontinued. And now we've added a new element to the rumor mill. Until Fender actually comes out with an official announcement, I'm not going to let it take up space in my head.

Technology is always marching forward, I'm just happy to be along for the ride. :)
