Hi. I want to update my original g-dec to the blues version. Some questions: 1. Will this upload wipe out the amp settings I have saved to my computer? 2. Is the blues upload just band tracks or are there also amp /effect settings also? I'd like to add back some amp settings after doing the changeover. Please advise.

Thanks All!!

Hi pmorri1,

All data on you computer will be saved, but all data on your amp will be overwritten when you load the Blues Special Edition content. The Blues Special Edition content data set includes a complete set of Presets and Band Tracks. Once you have loaded the Special Edition Blues content to your amp, you can add some of your favorite presets back to your amp. Keep in mind that you will overwrite any of the Blues Special Edition presets with such a transfer. I have gone ahead and added a link below that should be helpful to you, and let me know if we can assist further.

Just deployed the blues.img according to

http://www.fender.com/de-DE/support/art ... stallation

and was expecting my presets to be changed to blues choices.

However, the files have been uploaded as I can see via quick access, but the presets didnt change, visible as before. As the former wav files have been erased, they dont work properly any more.

Bit frustrated, was looking forward to some nice jams on saturday afternoon.

Can somebody help me? Do I expect the wrong? Did I miss something?

Cheers,
Michael

PS.: Update: Just found this this thread: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=71166 , lets see if it works like this:
Quote:
We have seen a few cases where the firmware file (.upd file) needed to be loaded to the SD card first and installed. Then the user could load the other 2 files to the SD card and run the restore of the media after (.bin & .img files).

PS.: Worked fine, might be worth to add this "workaround" in the installation description or to do a firmware correction.

Hi protoguitar,

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear that all is well now. I have now updated our related Fender Knowledgebase article with a special note about this workaround. Please see the link below. Thanks again for your input here. Please let us know if we can assist further.
