Let me start by saying I glanced through Brad Traweek's thread of lists of features
and functions and learning tools for the G-DEC. I did not notice which one would have
answers to my questions or if the answers do exist. Because of time constraints of less
than one day (for EBay selling reasons) I request some urgent help. Thanks.

I've a recently purchased G-DEC 30w 1x10 Blues, that is unused and waiting for me, now!
Also, I purchased a G-DEC 30w 1x10 Standard amp I gave to my nephew as a gift.
I've played with his Standard and with his friend's Blues G-DECs, but only a few times.

It is time for me to get into my G-DEC on a steady basis as I've purchased nine
of the SD-Card-Books with several band's greatest hits. Cool stuff.

My question is:
I was told that Fender offers downloads of all four G-DEC (Blues Metal Country & Standard)
Fender factory backing-tracks into my computer. Then, I could pick & choose which tracks
I do like and which tracks to discard. Then, I can "clean out" my G-DEC-Blues
Fender backing-tracks and install a fresh set of tracks of my choice.

Is this truly a possibility? Am I off base? Is there a way to load Metal into my Blues amp?
Can I download from Fender, all four (Metal Blues Country & Standard) sets of backing
tracks into my computer? Then use Fender's softward to manipulate which tracks to
load into my G-DEC-Blues amp?

Please answer as soon as you can, as I have my Blues amp up for sale.
I may sell it or pull it off the market depending upon the answers.

Thanks again. Toppscore :)

The way I understand it. The Blues,Country and Metal are "themes. You can only have one "theme on the harddrive at once. The Theme being for instance Country, It is geared twards country artists adding there style and preset amp settings to the individual songs. Same with the Metal and Blues. If you add the SD card to the mix it is unlimited as to what you can add. The hard drive on the amp pretty much just handles the Themes and some room for looping. Get into the Fender Fuse program and you can do a lot of manipulating with the harddrive side and the SD memory card side. I'm sure others will have more detail yet.

Thanks, guys.
I had my G-DEC Blues in Gem Mint Unopened Condition for sale on EBay
and it was to be sold today. But, I did not want to risk losing the Blues Tracks.
So, I decided I will keep it and make the amp my main "head-phone" travel
and practice amps. Loved playing with my nephew.

Since you guys say there is a "Hard-Drive" installed, and typically,
I notice that Fender installs 100 backing tracks, my plan is this.

Maybe go in and remove 50 blues tracks I do not like,
add 25 metal & 25 country tracks I do like (to total back up to 100 tracks).

Plus, I noticed I can add my own tracks, and was just thinking
of adding the Metal & Country in the "personal" additional tracks.

Bottom line is that I'll figure it all out.
The big thing is that I did not sell my
Blonde Tolex Blues G-DEC and lose those Blues Tracks.

Last question that got me into this train of thought in the first place:
Is there a Fender download site where I can download all of the Country,
Blues & Metal collections? A few months ago I read within this forum
that there is a download G-DEC site and it's possible to do so. Right?
Where is the link to the download page?
Thank you for your help. Toppscore :)

Thanks, Alan. I pulled my amp off the market.
I had seen the totally unavailable G-DEC Blues editions sell for $600(+).
I could have made a profit, but I did not want to spend hours hunting
for blues software and then buying another G-DEC Thirty and not finding
another G-DEC Blues.

So, I am going to spend time following all of the instructions
and see what and how and why processes are done.

Queston, will all SD cards fit into the G-DEC amp?
I will purchase some extras.
Are the GB size limits for the G-DEC?
Do SD cards offer a universal sized fitted port/plug? similar to USB ports?

Thank you 8)

Fit? Yes, every SD will go into the slot, however, Fender has a recommendation regarding SD cards. See: http://www.fender.com/support/articles/fender-g-dec-3-sd-card-compatibility

OK, but each card can hold a lot of files!

See the link above.

Not quite sure what you're asking about here. If you are asking if the slot that an SD card plugs into is a standard size, the answer is yes. (Meaning that any SD card will fit into an SD card slot. Doesn't necessarily mean that all cards will work, however! Again, see link above) The cards themselves don't have any ports or plugs.

I'm using a Patriot SD card 16 gig. No problem at all.

Thanks, everybody.
I am now all set to begin learning:
1) the G-DEC amp,
2) how to interact with the G-DEC Fender Factory Tracks,
3) how to begin to work with the FUSE software on my computer(s)
4) how to handshake with the USB port and the SD-card between my
computes and the G-DEC amp's hard drive memory system
5) and that most all answers are right here on this great forum.

Thanks again. Toppscore :D

Hi Toppscore,

My suggestion would be to take it one step at a time. Perhaps a task at a time. So, one day focus on the Preset Editor (Main page of Fender FUSE software) and how it controls your amp. Then the next day focus on the Media Library (the librarian and storage area for your PC, amp and SD card in Fender FUSE), and so on.

Please let us know if we can assist further as well.

Hi Toppscore,

Sure. These were of course just suggestions. But in my experience, learning a device like this along with it's software can be a bit easier if one takes it a step at a time. And with that said, please do let us know if we can assist further. :)

Well, Alan. I did it. I sold my Blues G-DEC-3 Thirty for $450. Big profit gain.

I am going to keep my Standard-G-DEC Thirty and then apply all
of these great suggestions upon it. Thanks again. Toppscore :)
