Is it possible to move or copy a jam track that is on the G-Dec onto the SD card like you can with the tones?

Thanks

Easily! As Fender says:

USB Drive—Use the USB Drive menu to connect the G-DEC 3
to your computer to enable direct access to all media files on
the G-DEC 3 hard drive (HD). You will find three folders on the
G-DEC 3 HD: Audio, Midi, Phrase

The tracks are, obviously, in the Audio folder.

Furthermore, there is this option as well:
https://fuse.fender.com/tracks.php

All band tracks can be downloaded there, including everything found on the Country, Metal and Blues special version amps.

Hi pompeii0,

I wanted to jump in here and clarify just a bit. You can move Presets to and store them on an SD card. But you cannot actually access a Preset directly form and SD card. You can, however, load/save Band Tracks (wav & mp3 files) to an SD card and play the files directly form the SD card via the Quick Access feature. If you want to copy a batch of Band Tracks to your SD card, the USB Drive mode is a convenient way to do this. Please see the links to our Fender Knowledgebase links below and let us know if we can assist further.

What's the sense in storing them if you cannot access them directly from the card..I wanted to store a bunch of presets and make my own SD Card like the ones we can buy for GDEC-3..

You can't access the presets from the SD cards you buy, either. You can load them into a preset location on your amp, just like any other preset you want to use. You seem to misunderstand how the amp works with presets.

No I do not, actually I can put in a card, then I can import the presets and play the band track without a signing it to a preset...no kidding.

I can video tape it...

Hi michaelawalker,

The Hal Leonard SD cards operate the same way as other SD cards do. They pre-load the cards with Presets and Band Tracks. From there, you go to the Utilities menu on the amp and navigate to Import. From there you select the Preset you want to import and to which Preset location on the amp. Then press the Save button on your amp. This procedure is for Presets.

If you want to play back Band Tracks only, you can use the Quick Access feature and step through the various file types and the two locations to access the Hal Leonard band Tracks for playback that way without the associated Preset tone. I hope this information helps . Please let us know if we can assist further. Thanks.

Here are the steps I take on the bought ones. I insert the card. Hit the button till you see import and turn knob to import, I can then play any preset with the track from the bought cards, the save button lights up Red however I do not have to save. I can switch presets just by turning the knob. No saving required to the amp itself..try it..you will see..

Now if I make my own card it says invalid file. Now I noticed the only difference between my card and the bought card is the extra file per preset and band track its like an instrument file or something..

Hi michaelawalker,

I understand. So, you are temporarily loading the Presets into your amp. Perhaps it would be more convenient if you saved them to locations that you don't use on the amp's hard drive. Then you could simply call them up and not have to go through Import each time. It is just an idea. Please let us know if we can assist with anything further.

Best Regards,

I'm still curious as to why I cannot temporarily load my own homemade sd card?, why does it only work with the bought ones?

Hi michaelawalker,

You are very welcome. Credit is due here to our Tech Support Lab rep. Peter Wichers who created the Preset. Please let us know if we can assist further.
