I have a SD card that I am not ujsing anymore from something else. Is there wa way to condition this so that G-DEC thinks that it is a new card so it will format it for use here?

Thanks,

Tom Hintz (impressed G-DEC newbie)

Format it in a computer, if you can. Then, when you insert it into the amp, you can format it to the amp. You may be able to format it even if it has info on it in the amp. My G-DEC3 Thirty will, through the menu system.

I'll try digging in the menu. I tied formating it in the computer, a couple difference ways and the G-DEC just turns its nose up at it. maybe I'll get really crazy and look through the instructions on the disk.......(don't tell anyone)

Hi Tom,
You've probably seen this, but just in case....
http://www.fender.com/en-CA/support/art ... er-g-dec-3
In the support section there's also a list of SD cards that work, and some that don't.
bclarke is perfectly right in that you should be able to wipe it and reformat using your pc (it is a pc???) and then you should be good to go.
....except sometimes
cheers,
Alex

Hi tomhintz,

Have you been able to get your card formatted? If so, cool. If not, please let us know and we will assist you. Thanks.

Hi all. New to this Forum. Didn't know how to post a question - so jumped into this conversation. Forgive me - can't help with old SD card question! What I need to know is - can you just download any old backing tracks and use them wi the GDEC 3?

Two answers:
1. Here's what to click to start a new topic (question). Located towards the top left of the forum or thread window.

2. The short answer is yes, most any mp3 or wav file will work.

Sorry about not getting back on this. I did get the SD card formatted in another computer and the G-DEC took it just fine.
