I've noticed the big price drop in the G-Dec 3 series. Has anyone heard if Fender is coming out with a new amp to replace it? I was think about getting the G-Dec 3 Fifteen for a practice amp, but with my luck as soon as I do they'll come out with a new series with new bells and whistles.

I wonder if the answer isn't nothing and it's just the end of the line. Considering the ease with which you can get everything you can from the GDEC with the use of a Mustang and a PC, I'm guessing there just isn't a market for the integrated feature set in the GDEC. I'm glad I have one but sort of think now that it really wasn't necessary as such to purchase it. And I sure would have preferred not paying what I did seeing where the price is now. Ouch!

I am also not sure why fender is replacing the G-DEC 3 but maybe they will come out with a new G-DEC 4?

I bought a G-DEC 3 15w over a month ago for 99.99 and i do not see them anymore for this price but i still see that some music outlets still have the G-DEC 3 30w for 199.99.

I really would not wait for a new G-DEC to come out if fender decides to release one because the price will be much higher then the current closeout on the G-DEC 3's,you may even still find a G-DEC 3 15W for 99.99 if you do a in depth search online for one.

To me the value of the G-DEC 3 (I have the 30) is not primarily that what it does can not be done in other ways, but that what it does can not be done as simply, as reliably, and (perhaps most important to me) with as much portability.

I have an entire room devoted to guitar and amps. I have gotten rid of most of my 'classic; amps and for my prime set up use a Line 6 Duoverb 2/12 combo amp and a matching 2/12 speaker. I also have a couple of backing track machines wired into my voice system. But the G-DEC does almost everything those systems do and weighs 20 lbs! Add to the fact that it plays plenty loud, easily integrates into systems anyplace I bring it, and its a winner and a keeper.

It didn't hurt that I got mine for a closeout $169. What a deal!!! :)

I say if you can get one do. If you have one hold on to it!!! :)))

I bought two of the G-DEC 3 Thirty amps when they first came out - pre-ordered them actually and waited a couple of months for them to show up. Prior to their arrival I was using a bunch of the old G-DEC 30 amps for playing out to backing tracks. Though I already own two of the 3 Thirty amps, I am tempted to pick up another at $199 or less and just store it away in the box.

I've been playing out solo and in a duo since 1998 with G-DEC amps and have found it to be fun and easy and brings in a good bit of cash month to month as well. Plus, I don't have to pay a drummer or a bass player! I don't know if Fender is following up the new G-DECs with anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was the end of the line.

I'll be keeping what I have... along with the other 35+ amps that I own.

Sure, I guess it could be the end of the line. That would be a shame because I think the design is genius. It's also possible that Fender is clearing the distribution channels as they move production from China to Mexico as they did with the Super Champ XD/X2. If so, I would expect to see some "updates" to the amp.
