You can get the other presets by merely downloading them from Fender. I have all four presets on my harddrive so if I ever want to change them I can. Just because there are none right now, which doesn't surprise me because Sam Ash was selling the 30s for 150 bucks, doesn't mean there wont be more in the future. As far as I know the G-Dec 3 is very successful and Fender has no intention of stopping the line. However taking into consideration that amps bought ten years ago are more expensive now you may be able to put that in your closet for 30 years and it may command a high price then but I just don't see anyone that wants one paying more than 150 for it. Sorry.
http://www.fender.com/support/articles.php?section=downloads&category=software-firmware-downloads On this page go down to the G dec area and you will see the blues content link.

Thanks, so much.
I feel bad I was stuck on the Fender software would be dedicated to each amp.
I will give it a go. Sorry I was closed minded. Toppscore :)

I was going to say. I have the Country version. But I have changed out the hard drive for the blues. Messed with that for a while. Then switched that out for the metal. Now I am back to the country setup. The amps themselves are just different versions of covering. The internal harddrive is all the same. Just different style music. Push one out and push another style in. I love this amp :D

Thanks, Banditt. I will learn to do just that.
Too bad it doesn't hold all three (metal, blues & country).

For "computer" or "hard-drive", you mean the memory stick or SD-Card
dumping info onto a DRAM Memory Bank?

The amp doesn't need to hold all three as there is a HUGE amount of overlap between the three versions - in this case, original, blues and country. The country version's offerings are downright sucky - terrible selection, with almost a third of all tracks being worthless drum tracks and everything else borrowed from the other versions anyway.

Of all the versions, I prefer the Blues Edition, but it holds dozens of band tracks that are found on the other versions as well. I have created a large number of my own blues tracks and added them to the original Blues version, dumping the junk filler tracks from Fender.

Anyway, regardless of what you see or don't see on eBay or CL or wherever, none of these amps is particularly valuable or collectible (look at values of the older G-DEC 30 amps that originally sold for $369) and it looks like the new and improved version of the G-DEC should hit the market in the next year or two anyway.

Dig that amp out and play it. It's not worth saving...

This is great news. The Blues will last me a while anyway. Country, we shall see.
Metal, gotta play with "high gain" and "speaker breakup" for some loud phun

Thanks to everybody for the insights and tips. Toppscore 8)

Grab it! I am keeping mine.
Very rare to see the Blues Edition up for sale, ANYWHERE!

But, because of this Fender Forum thread, I could sell mine,
but only make $200 profit. Then, I'd have to turn around and
buy a cheaper one. So, I'm just keeping it and will begin
to work the software. As one of the Fender guys keeping an eye
on this G-DEC thread has instructed me: "one step at a time" :D

I really have minimal experience with MIDI music with computers.
So, by the end of August, I should be full-on-board with my G-DEC

I've got a Country. Really nice unit. I use it with my new Gretsch County Gentleman.

I think why the G-DEC were discontinued is they just had too much going on with these. You need an engineering degree to understand all of the functions these amps can do.

I've had mine for a couple of years and I've barely scratched the surface. If I don't use it for a few months, I pretty much have to get the manual out to get it up and going.

My 1978 Marshal 2103 has 5 or 6 knobs. Dime them and play. You can be brain dead and get an awesome sound out of these. Don't even have a manual.

Hi Jeff...
A bit of a hijack, but how's the weather? I for one, am ready for spring, which officially starts next week. Can hardly wait!
Getting lonely around here since the GDec's been discontinued. I'm certainly still very pleased with mine and my only regret is that I didn't buy it when the price really dropped.
Hindsight is so crystal clear...no need for reading glasses!
cheers,
Alex

(Apologies to the OP) Hi Alex, winter feels like it's never going to end. The next two weeks they are still forecasting snow. :x

Yeah, been pretty quiet in this forum, but such is life!

(Blasphemy alert-->) Much of my time on the guitar lately has been spent in Rocksmith 2014. It was a Christmas gift, and I got hooked bad. ;) What the heck, if it's guitar, it's all good. :)

Stay warm!

Jeff
