Is there a way to use the ULT-4 footswitch to access and select a band track on the SD card as you would on the internal memory? While selecting a track on the SD card using the big silver wheel, and then try to use the footswitch to go up or down the selection (using Mode 2 of the footswitch), it would go back to the internal memory presets. Then I have to retry accessing the SD card band tracks again with the wheel, etc...

Also, can the footswitch also start and stop a track, either on the internal memory or the SD card? It has the start/stop for the looper but not for the presets/tracks (only selects up or down, I believe).

Thanks!

Hi deltaslim,

Thanks for your inquiry. The Fender ULT-4 pedal cannot directly access Band Tracks from either the amp's hard drive or an SD card. I would suggest that you associate the Band Tracks you want with the Presets you would like to play them with. This can include Band Tracks on the amp's drive and on the SD card. You will just need to make sure that you have the SD card in the amp when you want to access any Band Tracks residing on the SD card.

In regard to the Start/Stop function from the pedal, I would suggest that if you need to access Band Tracks this way or if you need to access a larger amount of Band Tracks/wav files, that you may want to consider using a media player and connecting it to the Aux input on the rear panel of the amp. Please let me know if I can assist further.

Thanks for the reply, Alan, altho I was hoping there was a way. Doesn't seem to make the footswitch as useful especially if we're just talking about going up and down files. If the amp's buttons can do it, why can't the footswitch? I can only hope future firmware updates can consider this.

Thanks again.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I can access and start/stop the band tracks with the footswitch on both the hard drive and my SD card in Quick Access mode. You do have to put it in Quick Access mode on the amp, however.

Hi Guys,

Yes, in fact, sutmo is correct regarding the possibility of Band Track playback. You can actually select the Start/Stop function for Band Tracks on the ULT-4 foot switch. This was my oversight. You can do this by placing the ULT-4 in Mode 2. Then use the Up/Down buttons to select the Preset you want, and use the Select button to start and stop playback of the Band Track. You can also step up and down through Presets and move between Band Tracks/Presets. The same Band Track playback is possible through Quick Access, plus you get the QA 1,2 & 3 Preset access.

Thanks sutmo for your input. :)

I was eager to try sutmo's suggestion but I was out of the country when he posted this. Tried it as soon as I got back and, yes, it does exactly what I wanted it to do! Thanks sutmo!
