In Oz the electrical supply is rated at 240V @ 50Hz, I'd like to by a G-Dec from the US, but with the electrical supply there being 120V @ 60Hz, I'm wondering if the transformers on the G-Dec are switchable between these two ratings, or are they made at a fixed voltage for the different countries ?

LOL, imagine running into you Dan, those prices are crazy good, just couldn't pass that up. The cheapest on eBay Oz was $300 for a second hand 15 from some private guy (not shop), damn ridiculous.

Hi RaSTuS26,

The Fender G-DEC 3 amps are made for specific regions. You basically have two options. One would be to get a good quality step-down converter. And second would be trying to find an amp in your region with the correct power supply. Please let me know if I can assist further.

Thanks for the reply Alan, not really what I wanted to hear, but I do appreciate you taking the time.

I won't be buying one locally, saw one in the shop yesterday priced at $799, compare that against the $160 price range they're going for in the US, and it's a no-brainer that we're being ripped off over here, just hope I can source one stateside that'll have reasonable shipping costs, cheers.

Hi RaSTuS26,

You're welcome. And I understand. Different markets and different pricing, etc. Do be sure and research to ensure that you get a good quality step down converter as well. And let me know if we can assist further from this end.

Cheers,
