Hello,

Been familiarizing myself with the presets in my brand new G-DEC 3 15w and am now ready to create some of my own. Installed the Fuse software, registered it and thought I'd update the firmware first off, which downloaded as a "UPD file". How do you unzip a file like this as none of my decompression software (even ImgBurn which ostensibly deals with these .upd file extensions), nor Windows 7, will recognize it.

Hope you can help. :?

Regards,

Tony

The word "unzip" is a result of poor proofreading. The .upd file is ready to use as is. Use it through Fuse or directly on an SD card.

Thanks, that seems to have done the trick!

I have another question, if I might? If you want to import a new preset into the amp, do you have to sacrifice one of the pre-existing ones? Or are there vacant slots available for this purpose?

Cheers!

Sacrifice you must. You can always save the old preset for a resurrection.
cheers,
Alex

The "export all" is a useful function for those of us tinkering. Export all the presets to the SD then stash them somewhere for if/when you overwrite the wrong ones. Then find some lame preset and overwrite it with the one you want to test. If you like the band track that *was* there, be sure to note it and associate back to the new track as it won't be attached to any presets once a new one is imported in that slot. The track will still be on the amp or sd in its original location, it just won't be linked unless you select a preset to attach it to.
