Dear jes74,

Thanks for your inquiry. I have seen this situation before. It usually is due to the Speaker setting inside the utility menu of G-DEC® 3 being set to "Guitar" instead of "All". To change this setting follow these steps.
Hold "EXIT" key for about 5 seconds. Press the "Soft Key" next to the "Save button" until you arrive in the screen that reads "Speaker". It will be set at "All" or "Guitar". If it's set to" Guitar", turn the knob to "ALL" then press the "Start" key and you should hear audio playback through your amps speakers. Then press "EXIT". If after following these steps you continue to have additional issues or questions Please let us know.

Best Regards,

I too, have this issue with a 3-30 I recently acquired 2nd hand. I can hear the band tracks through the headphones but after removing the phones, there's nothing coming from the speaker. I suspect a switch in the chassis will not allow a re-direct for the signal.

I have sent an email to the forum moderators this morning and hope to get a response soon.

I have also encountered an issue similar to this with my G-DEC3 FIFTEEN; I can get sound to come out of both the speaker and the headphone socket but at an extremely low volume only (even when the volume level is cranked to full).

I would appreciate any assistance in fixing the problem.

Just found this post. I have same problem as hardplayer of very low volume after unplugging headset, which still works fine, when reinserted. Will changing the speaker work or is there something else I can do.

Dear packrat4120,

It sounds like you may be seeing the issue where the audio signal is not released back to the speaker after having the headphones connected. I would suggest that you try “exercising” the headphone jack by connected/disconnecting a pair of headphones about 20 times.

If after performing this step you still find that you are not hearing audio signal coming back to the speaker, you will want to locate a Fender® authorized service center nearest to you. We recommend contacting them to schedule an appointment prior to actually taking your Amp in for service, grab a copy of your original sales receipt and contact the service center you have selected. And they should be able to assist you from there. Please let us know if we can assist further.

The input jack is defective and needs to be replaced. The unit is no longer under warranty and I would need the correct input fixture to replace it with, I am a technician so I would try to do it myself. Does anyone have the exact replacement part ID? That would be greatly appreciated.

OK, I have a G-DEC 3 15 with 2.04 firmware. NO WHERE in the Util menu is a Speaker setting! At least using these instructions.
Also, there were instructions on this form for factory reset that is impossible because the button combo mentioned is - again - not on my G-DEC!! So, HOW DO I GET TO THE SPEAKER SETTING IN UTILITIES and HOW DO I DO A FACTORY RESET on a G-DEC 3 15 with 2.04??
