Is it possible to switch presets using the footswitch while a band track is playing? Each time I try, a new band track (the one associated with that particular preset) starts playing. Any help would be appreciated.

Presets rule the amp. Wherever they go, anything attached to them either follows or gets lost. Consider them the center point to work for any playing you do. Change it, and everything past it is changed in some fashion. That makes life easier once you realize the amp isn't as much a bunch of presets here, and bunch of bands there, and so on. It's all centered around the presets.

Hi jebrown217,

You can use the Quick Access feature to access up to 3 different Presets while playing a Band Track from within Quick Access. Press the Quick Access button on your amp. Then press and hold the QA1 button and use the silver encoder knob to select the Preset you want for that location and release the QA1 button. Do the same thing with QA2 & QA3. Once you have your Presets set up, simply turn the silver encoder knob to select the Band Track you would like to play and press the Start/Stop button. Please let me know if I can assist further.

Hi Alan,

I think I know what the original poster wanted to ask as I have the same question. When jamming with the selected band, I wanted to switch to different presets by using quick access but what g-dec does is it stops the track when you change your preset. We basically wanted to switch to different presets to play along with any track, say when a solo lead comes in, I wanted to use a different guitar effects, much like using a pedalboard.

Hi fildeps,

I understand. And this is what I was referring to as well. Here's what you do. With your 3 QA Presets already programmed, go to Quick Access, select the Band Track you want to play with and press the Start/Stop button. On your foot switch, use the QA mode to move between your chosen Presets. The Band Track that you selected in Quick Access will continue to play as you move between your QA Presets. Please let me know if I can assist further.

Cheers,

Alan,

Thanks for posting this tip (and fildeps for asking). I've only had my G-DEC 3 for about a week and I hadn't even used the Quick Access feature yet. Pretty cool.
