I tried to access some of the new blues and metal presets that i copied and pasted to my SD card in the presets folder, the presets i downloaded and put on the SD card are there but i cannot access these presets from the SD card unless i import them to the G-DEC's internal hard drive.

Is this normal? I was hoping to access the presets from the SD card presets folder only?
I did not want to overwrite the presets in the G-DEC. If this is what i have to do to access these new presets fender should have a firmware update to correct this so i could access any downloaded presets that i save to my SD card from the cards preset folder without first having to import the presets to the G-DEC's internal hard drive.

I believe the presets have to be written into a slot for the hardware to read them. I'm sure someone will correct me if wrong but that's the way I see it working.

Hi Metalman50,

If you want to bring Presets to the amp from an SD card, you will need to use the 'Import' function in the Utility menu. Please let me know if I can assist further.

Thanks for the info but i have another question,i just ripped some of my own backing tracks in windows media player in MP3 at 160kbps and copied these tracks to my SD cards audio folder but these newly added tracks do not show up on my G-DEC 3?

Could the problem be that i should have ripped the backing tracks at 128kbps instead of 160kbps?

It has been a while since i converted to MP3 files and i forgot about that the WMA files are only compatible with windows media player,i had to convert the WMA to MP3 files for my backing tracks to work in my G-DEC.

I had an older version of ease audio converter that i installed in my computer but it only allows 30 conversions, can anyone tell me if there are any other good free MP3 conversion programs that are virus and spyware free? Many of the free ones i found had reviewers saying these free conversion programs have malware and spyware that can harm your computer.

I use Audacity for raw file editing and it exports in various formats. Realplayer has a good converter I use for most everything. You can do a search and see if it handles wma. I use it for many video formats along with wav and mp3. It'll also rip music from videos like youtube backing tracks and save as audio files.

I have audacity but it will not do the WMA to MP3 conversion that i needed. I never tried the converter in realplayer but if it does WMA to MP3 conversion that will be good!

I just tried it, wma to mp3 was no sweat. Be sure to use the Details button to set the bitrates you want and it's all good.
