Hi! Little background... I originally had a P4 PC running XP Pro and installed Fuse 2.4 with the G-DEC3 30 amp. Everything worked as designed quite well. The PC PSU burned up taking out the motherboard. Sigh.

I now have a new 64-bit PC running Windows 7 64-bit Pro and went through the installation procedure for the Fuse 2.6 software including installation of Microsoft Silverlight 5.1.10411.0.

The problem is that when I click on the Fuse software to start it, nothing happens. I see the initial mouse busy for 1-2 seconds and that is it. There are no error or warning messages from Windows 7. That seems to indicate that Windows was able to find the path to the Fuse folder/directory but it did not complete the 'start program' action. Windows Task Manager doesn't show the application running.

I read through the Fender Fuse forum website looking for clues, read through the Fuse user manual, etc. no help.

I tried to change compatibility mode for the Fuse software but that had no affect. I uninstalled Fuse 2.6 software, reinstalled it, rebooted, no help. I uninstalled Fuse again, uninstalled Silverlight and then installed Fuse and installed Silverlight, rebooted. No help.

I downloaded Fuse 2.4 to give that a try; uninstalled Fuse 2.6, uninstalled Silverlight, installed Fuse 2.4 and installed Silverlight, rebooted. No help. Same symptoms - go to start Fuse, brief mouse busy and Fuse does not start.

Either I have forgotten something during the installation (quite possible...) or there's an obscure Windows & Pro 64-bit setting that I am not aware of. I am new to Windows 7 Pro.

I am baffled and have no idea what to try next or what to look for. Sure hope I can find help here!

Thanks.

This will be of little help, but... I'm using win 7 home premium 64 bit, no issues. The first thing that pops up in my head would be a virus scanner you have that's interfering.

Thanks for the reply. A virus scanner could interfere in some cases but that is not an issue since I have not installed one at this point. It's a new install.

As it turns out, I had a problem setting up an SSD drive as the primary Windows (C:\) drive on this system and the manufacturer's tech had me change the registry paths (both x86 and regular program directories, etc.) to a secondary hard drive (F:\) so that all software programs would be installed on the F:\ drive (and not on the C:\ drive) to prevent it from filling up.

All the other programs and external hardware (printer, 24-track recorder, etc.) that I installed have worked fine, even some very old software that has been discontinued since 1985.

The only one that didn't play nice was the Fender Fuse software. It must have hard coded program directory paths or something and doesn't work in this configuration (Windows 7 on C:\ and Program directories on F:\). It's probably something to do with Silverlight (such as finding it...maybe?).

I found a temporary workaround to test the Fuse software; I was able to get it to work and it does sync with the G-DEC3. I modified the registry program paths to their original settings, rebooted the system and tested. As I said, this is temporary and only used as a test. I have since reconfigured my system to my specifications. Too bad that Fuse doesn't play nicely!

I don't hold any hope that Fender will provide a software fix for Fuse :( (and especially to work with the G-DEC3 amplifier series since it's being discontinued from what I've heard on the forum.)

If a Fender Fuse tech wants to contact me directly, please do so. Not going to hold my breath though...
