Somehow, a band track got erased from one of my presets...

The band track is not on the HD, it's on the SD... I try to import it, but when I turn the knob, it scrolls thru all the band tracks on the HD but never scrolls thru the band tracks on the SD so I can import it.

Any ideas?

Keep turning the knob. It goes through the tracks on the HD, then goes to those on the SD card. By turning the opposite direction, you can go to the SD card first...at least on my G-DEC 3 Thirty.

no, that's the problem. It's not recognizing the SD. FOR BAND TRACKS. It seems to recognize it just fine to import presets from the SD.

Hi...
Did the band tracks on the SD card show up before? I'm assuming that you have more than one band track.
Have you examined the SD card using your computer and is it alright? It should have 4 folders (Audio, Midi, Phrase and Presets) plus .metadat_never_index and .Trashes files.
There should be no subfolders within the 4 folders, otherwise trouble.
You could try putting a new band track on the SD card and see if it turns up, or - and this is more drastic - backup the data from the SD card and reformat it then copy the data back on and see if it is visible.
cheers,
Alex

The computer reads the SD card fine. I'll check the folder setup on the SD card. And yes, I have been able to import band tracks from the SD card no problem in the past.

Here's a question: if you change some settings on a preset (amp tone), and then resave over the SAME, do you lose the band track in the process? Because otherwise I can't figure out how the band track went missing in the first place...

Not that not should matter, but I'm talking specifically about the Eric Johnson "lead" preset with the "Cliffs of dover" track. I have made adjustments to the preset, but have no idea why the band track is gone, and i'm trying to get that track reloaded onto that preset on the GDEC.

As far as I know, you shouldn't lose a band track by saving an amp setting change in a preset, but with that said, I have lost band tracks in the past and have had to reassociate them. I've never had the problem (knock on wood!) that you're having though.
I have had problems in the past when my mp3 files were in the wrong format (320kbps) and my wave files were 24 or 32 bit. I had to convert them to the standard formats so that they would be recognized by the GDec.
I do try to do all my saves via the save function on the amp rather than via the fuse software on my computer as I find that if the system is going to hang, it's most likely via the fuse software/amp link. I do still use fuse to edit my presets and jump from preset to preset though.
I'm sorry that I can't be of more help...if I think of something else I'll get back to you, but this may be a problem for Loren!
cheers,
Alex

The SD card appears to have the correct folders, the band tracks aren't in any folder, they are just on the SD card "itself." However, it does NOT have these 2 files:

.metadat_never_index and .Trashes files.

Oh- and I don't use FUSE; I do all my editing/saving directly on the amp.

I just reformatted the SD in the amp, then transferred the card to the computer and put all my files on it; and amp having the same problem- the amp will not scroll to the SD card for band tracks.

Also, the card STILL doesn't have the 2 files mentioned above...

WAIT... I just moved all the band tracks to the AUDIO folder. No problem now. How in the world would the tracks have gotten taken OUT of the audio folder? As I said, the SD card has always worked perfectly, and it hasn't been taken out of the amp in weeks.... very strange behavior...

Whew...that's a relief!
The 2 files that I have may have something to do with Fuse?!??
It's weird that the audio files were disassociated from the Audio folder - I often think that the new technology tests us from time to time to see if we are worthy.
Glad to hear that you're back in business.
I must say that although the amp has some occasional quirks, I really, really like it for practicing and recording. I just make sure that I have my GDec info backed up same as I do for my computer files.
Best,
Alex

Hi ruger9,

I would suggest that you log into your Fender FUSE Community account and do a search for the Band Track. Download it to Fender FUSE software (documents/FenderFUSE/Audio/Wav-mp3) Then launch Fender FUSE and go to the Media Library. Right click on the Band Track there (computer tab) and select Save to Amp. Once the Band Track is reloaded to the amp's hard drive, you should be able to go back to the Preset and re-associate it. Please let me know if I can assist further.

Best Regards,
