Just curious... I don't use FUSE at all. I HAVE, I just don't have a need to. I format the SD card in the amp, do all my programming from the amp, export the files to the SD for backup, and then simply drag & drop when moving files between amp & computer.

I'm to a point where I can do all the editing and such right on the amp. Guess it comes from not always having a computer with me when I make adjustments. Once you get used to it you can get very proficient at working right off the amp itself. If you think about it, once you get everything adjusted the way you want. It is just a matter of the add ons you put on the SD card being tweaked the way you want.

Agreed. And with the add-ons such as the Hal Leonard books/SD cards, they don't require FUSE either, I believe.

I thought in one of the demos they said "you can do alot more stuff with FUSE than you can right on the amp".... is this true? I can't imagine what else you could "do", the amp has so many parameters already, unless FUSE has even more built-in amp models or something, I don't know what you'd need it for.

Yep firmware updates are a given thru FUSE. I think FUSE is just an extention of the harddrive on the amp including the sd card if it is installed on the amp too. Just gives a broad view of what is on the harddrive of the amp. It's nice when I slow down long enough to fire up FUSE. But like I said, I am not always close to a computer when I need to make any adjustments. No biggie. Nice to have it both ways

The only thing I can think of besides updates through FUSE would be placing effects either before or after the amp. You can't choose that on the amp. But that's about it.

good topic...
I still use fuse more often than making changes via the GDec itself because:
1] The amp and my computer are nearby in my man cave/studio.
2] I like 'seeing' the various effect boxes and amplifiers...I'm a visual junkie, I suppose!
3] I find that it's way faster to switch from preset to preset using fuse than via the wheel on the amp.
You're quite right though that it's pretty easy to tweak the preset settings via the GDec. I do find that after making changes to a preset, it's best to save via the save button on the amp. If the system is going to hang, in my experience it is far more likely to do so if I save via fuse.
cheers,
Alex
