Hi fellow G-Dec'rs.
Just got the 30 country edition last week and I was wondering if I could make a SD card that would allow me to put Blues & some Country and anything else I wanted on it?

I hope that I am not asking a question that has already been answered and I missed in the forums?

Hi and Welcome,
Yes you can make a SD Card to modify your G-Dec. Instructions are in the Fender G-DEC 3 Data Pack Installation Instructions folder just above your post.
cheers,
Alex

Thank's AlexeiY for the reply, but I wondered if I could put a mixture of, say Blues & Country or Metal & Blues together on one SD card and put that combination into the amp as you would put a Blues edition in, all by itself!

I think you are able to over ride the presets to put in something else in its place, but I was hoping to do this on the computer all at once and save it to an SD and put that mixture into the G-Dec.

You could do what you want, if I understand you correctly, but it would take quite a while to set it up. Bear in mind that the amp, by default, has all data stored on the HD, and not the SD card.

So all your new data could be stored on SD card, and then in Fuse it would be just a matter of pointing each slot to the preset and and band track on the SD card.

What would be cool would be the ability to create a custom amp data setup, and then being able to load that from the SD card, just as if you're loading the Original, or Blues, Country or Metal.

I suppose using Backup and Restore in Fuse is the next best thing...once you've got things where you want them.

Thanks ARX320, the custom data amp idea you mentioned is exactly what I am after!

If I am understanding correctly, what I want to do can be done by overriding the presets & bang tracks. But would I be able to copy this compilation to an SD card for future use?

Um...no. Not the way that you want to. When you make all those changes, all you're really telling the amp is the location of each preset and band track. The "operating system", if you will, is what really needs to be changed (and that is on the HD).

Fender allows you to load each "operating system" (Original, Blues, Metal, Country) and will allow you to point to different locations for either presets or band tracks, whether the content is on the amp's HD or on the SD card.

Once those changes are made, you can do a Backup, which will save your information. I believe what is exactly backed up will depend if you are on a Mac (I am) or a PC.

So how about this: Get any/some/all settings and tracks the way you want. (fyi: I have done exactly this, and have eight sections organized: Blues, Country, Rock, Slow, Jazz, Pop and Latin. Yeah, it took a while. )

Then do a backup in Fuse, naming it something relevant. (My Awesome Content) ;)

Now, you can run, say, the Blues installer. (If you can put the installer on a separate SD card, that's great, but not absolutely necessary.) Running the installer will wipe out everything on the amp's HD and replace it with the factory default Blues content. Your SD card will be untouched. Jam like you're BB King's long lost relative.

Play around with that for a bit, then, in Fuse, run Restore. Choose that backup (My Awesome Content) and voila! everything is back as it was. (Assuming your SD card is in your amp, of course)

Good luck!

Thanks so much ARX360, that sounds like it is what I would like to do, a little work but a result that will be worth it. :D

Thanks again, keep on jam'n!
