Quick Question: Will the special edition band tracks and presets play in the original G-DEC 3, or do I need to load the special addition firmware too?

Cool! Is there a way to download all of the band tracks and presets at one time without the firmware files?
Thanks!

Fender provides a link here http://www.fender.com/support/articles/g-dec-3-original-and-special-edition-content-download-and-installation.

While the firmware update is included (it's just a single file), you can simply choose not to install it when doing a complete install of any edition (Country, Metal, Blues, "Regular").

The include Read Me with the download will spell it out.

Hey Guys,

Quick FYI. Using the wrong firmware will cause FUSE to disregard the skins that load up when you connect a Special Edition amp.

I keep seeing replies like above, but my experience has been TOTALLY different in my 2 days as an owner of a 3-30. Any time I convert to blues, if I only use the .img and .bin files, I get many missing bands after rebooting. So I do an update with the .upd file THEN load the music with no problems. I've swapped around a couple of times and this repeats consistently. For what it's worth, but this may save some headaches if anyone else is seeing this.
