I'm following the directions on Page 7 of the advanced manual, but I cannot access my MIDI band tracks on the SD card. The instructions say to press the Band soft key, select file type (MIDI), press the File soft key, then turn the big knob to scroll through the files, first though the HD files and then onto the SD card files. But as I turn the knob, it only displays the MIDI files on the HD. It never goes over to the SD card. The WAV files are in the AUDIO folder on the SD card and the MIDI files are in the MIDI folder on the card. There are several MIDI files on the SD card and the SD card has been formatted correctly. I can access the WAV files on the SD card with no problem, but not the MIDI files...they don't show up. HELP.

Page 3 of the online manual says hit the "quick access" button to get into the HD or SD area. scroll with the big gray knob to scroll thru either area.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I got the same result. It will not scroll to show the MIDI files on the SD card. It will only scroll to show the 5 WAV files that are in the AUDIO folder on the SD card. There are several additional WAV files in seperate folders on the SD card and it will not display those files either.

Hi,
I just popped my SD card into my computer and read it - it has 4 file folders: Audio, Midi, Phrase and Presets. The audio (mp3, wav) files must be in the Audio folder and not in separate folders and the midi files must be in the Midi folder.
Mine are and I can 'read' all my various audio files on my SD card via my G Dec 3.
hth,
Alex

Right. My card shows the same thing. Same 4 file folders. My WAV files are in the AUDIO folder and my MIDI files are in the MIDI folder. But, in the GDEC, after I select MIDI as the file type and try to scroll through with the large knob, it only shows the MIDI files on the HD and never gets to the MIDI folder on the SD card to show me the MIDI files that are there.

That's odd....
I just rechecked and when I press the band soft key on my G Dec, then choose midi, then press the file soft key I can scroll through all the midi tracks on the HD and SD card.
Are you sure that the midi files that you have on the SD card are not corrupted in some way? Or maybe you should try another SD card, though if you can read the wav files, I would have thought that the SD card is ok. Perhaps you could copy some of the HD midi files from the G Dec to your SD card and see if they show up.
The card that i'm using is a 8GB Dane-Elec and I've also used a Sony and an inx card without any problems.
weird...I wish that I could be of more help.
cheers,
Alex

Hey Guys,

MartinMan - What version of firmware do you have on your amp? I believe version 1.04 corrected some issues with recognizing Type 1 MIDI files.

Hi, Loren. I was hoping you'd come to the rescue.
I do have v. 1.04 firmware. Still can't figure out why this isn't working right. Any other suggestions?

It may be a good idea to follow Alex's advice and copy some of the internal MIDI files to he SD card. Perhaps there is something wrong with your MIDI files.

Well, I discovered my problem. My midi files were in sub folders within the MIDI folder on the SD card. Once I moved them out of their sub folders and simply into the MIDI folder, the amp could see and play them just fine. Issue solved.
Thanks for the suggestions and help.
