Hey guys, glad to be part of the community. I've looked through the forums and support and was not able to find these things out. I have several MP-3 songs that are 3 to 4 minutes in length. If I put them on my SD card to load into the G-Dec, where do I put them?
In other words, do these overwrite what's there, or do I have a choice of putting them, say where there is a song, or Band track that I want to initialize or don't need. There are several songs that I would like to delete if Posible in order to put my own songs or patchs.
Also, is there a way to audition the community songs posted before downloading them?
Once again, great to be here and thanks for the help.

The only band tracks that can be loaded into the Gdec are the ones that come with the Blues/Country/Metal themes. All other band tracks have to be played out of a computer with Fuse or from an SD card in the amp.

Thanks for the quick reply.
When you say I can play them from my SD card, what is the process for doing so? Do I just plug in the SD card and the amp guides me what to do next, or is there a special way of doing this. I am about to back up all the files to my Fuse software so I don't loose it all, so I'm wondering what happens when I plug in the Sd card to the amp to play my MP3 songs?
Thanks again for the help!

You should probably download the manual if you haven't already. I've only had my amp about a month so I'm no expert. No, it won't guide you after you insert the SD card. You'll probably want to use Quick Access.

When you place the SD card in the amp the first time it will create 4 folders. Once of them is the Audio folder. All Band Tracks must be placed in this Audio folder.

From there you can press Quick Access and play all of the files from there. You can also assign them to Presets just like you can assign the internal Band Tracks to Presets.

Actually, you can load any band tracks you want into the G-DEC simply by writing them into the Audio folder on the amp's internal memory. I have replaced a lot of the original Blues Edition band tracks with tracks of my own creation. You just have to watch the restricted memory, but other than that, there's no limit.

Thanks Dennis, I've had this a little over a month, so I have a lot to learn yet and probably shouldn't be giving advice. Do you do that through Fuse or do you need to load the tracks onto an SD card and work through the amp?

It should work either way. I find it easier to just copy songs over into the SD card audio file. If you want them to show up early under quick access put a number in front of the title (ex. 1 Midnight Rider, 2 Lay Down Sallie) and they will come up in order, first numbers, then alphabetically. If you want to slide others in to an existing order you can do 1A All Night Long and it will now be second. MP3s take up less space and you can't tell the diffrence in quality on the amp, unlike a stereo system. For even less memory use, save them as mono on your computer. Uses half the bits.

Hey Drew,

You don't have to involve FUSE or an SD card at all. If you hook your amp up to your computer using the USB and then hold the EXIT button, you'll get into the amps inner workings - Memory - USB Drive. When you get to USB Drive, hit a button below ENTER and your computer will find your amp and your amp's Music Folders will come up on your computer.

If you have an SD card in your amp, one Folder will be holding the four files on your SD card. Ignore that folder. Open the second folder and it will contain three sub-folders: Audio, MIDI and Phrase. These are the folders that are in the amp's actual onboard memory.

If you open the Audio folder, you will find all of the Band Tracks that are ON your amp. This is where you can delete the Band Tracks you don't like (no shortage of those as far as I am concerned, especially in the Country Edition) and add the Band Tracks you have created or borrowed from other sources.

You just have to be careful when you add band tracks. Be sure they are perfect loops and keep them as small as you can, memory wise, as internal amp memory is very limited. Once you have added your own Band Tracks, close all the folders on your computer screen and EXIT out of the USB Drive connection on the amp to avoid messing things up. I always remove the USB cable as well.

Once you have the amp itself back up, find one of your presets that you would like to CHANGE. Hit the BAND button. Next hit the FILE button, after which you will see the name of the Band Track that is currently assigned to that preset. From there, you can scroll through all of the other Band Tracks that are in the MUSIC folder on the amp until you come to the one you want assigned to the preset you are currently in.

Once you have found the Band Track you want, EXIT the internal access and you will find yourself back to the preset you entered and changed. The red SAVE button will be lit, waiting for you to finalize your change. Hit the red SAVE button once and it will ask if you want to save your changes. Hit the SAVE button again and your preset now contains the Band Track you moved into it. Then hit START and ENJOY!

If you have an SD card in your amp, scrolling through Band Tracks will sooner or later find the Band Tracks on the SD card and you CAN move one of those onto an existing preset - BUT, once you remove the SD card and go back to your edited preset, you won't find your Band Track - you will see instead the words BAND MISSING. The only way to permanently install your own Band Tracks is through the amp's INTERNAL music folders.

Good luck and I hope this helps and isn't too confusing. You can PM me if you want further clarification.

Thanks. I cut and pasted both replies into a file for future reference.

Thanks Dennis... This was exactly what I wanted to do...
