I've been using http://www.karaoke-version.com/custombackingtrack/ for about 9 months now to provide accompaniment tracks for my "band" (actually a bunch of guys like myself trying to learn to play). "Karaoke" is a horrible name, but the music tracks are great. You can selectively delete lead guitar, rhythm guitars, ALL guitars, bass, keys - whatever you want. Once you buy a track, which I think costs $1.99, you can go back and select another "edit" which includes or deletes whatever instruments you want. In short, you buy it once, then can use it for your "band" if, like ours you don't have a drummer, or bass or whatever, or include everything except the guitar part and use it for practice alone. You can change the key AND the tempo, so it is just GREAT for practice. Best I've found. Any questions, just ask me. Everybody in my group, No Child Left Behind, loves the tracks.

Have you tried the free tracks at http://www.guitarvoice.com/BackingTracks/Genres? Granted, you don't have the flexibility of changing things like the site you mentioned, but, hey, free!

Thanks for the guitarvoice referral. That seems like a good site. I'm going to try the kareoke site also. $1.99 is worth it for good tracks that can be customized.

Looks pretty cool, tho' the tracks are $2.99 not $1.99. Still for the flexibility of editing out parts you are trying to learn and being able to play along/over the MP3 via the G-DEC it looks like a winner to me. I just found a song I have been thinking about trying to work on and it was there. This will be much better than playing along to the CD version, or even and MP3 version of the CD since I can edit out the part I am trying to play.

edit - looks like it's the custom accompaniment tracks that are $2.99 but they are extremely cool...
