Nubie ( a few days) with the Gdec3. Tried to move a midi file from SD card to amp but had no luck. Fooled around after reading directions and lost everything on the amp. No music but still had all the names of the presets. Guess I exported them all. I then took the SD card and put it into the computer to see if they were exported to the card. Could not find on the card. Did a restore while I still had the card in the amp and everything came back. Where the heck did I export to? It appears to me that I can not change a midi file on the card without importing it on to the amp. Is that right. If I import say into preset #5 from the SD card what happens to the #5 preset that was there. Must I first export 5 and does that leave a blank space. Wish there was better instruction somewhere. Love the amp but getting frustrated. Also just found out that my computer is not fast enough to run FUSE. New one is only a grand. I now have a Imac G4 with OS 10.4

I have had my g-dec 3 thirty loose all preset information. Sometimes turning it off and on fixed it, sometimes I had to do a preset restore from the utility menu. No rhyme or reason.

It has not been a chronic problem and usually had to do with trying something like you did with an SD card. It has not happened to me in a long time.

Have you looked at the advanced owner's manual available? There is a link to it in a sticky at the top of the forum. There might be information on importing your midi. Should be able to do it - I import presets all the time, and backing tracks too, but its usually hunt and peck for me.

Thanx for the reply. I did download the advanced manual and thought I followed it. Did a restore and have ll the originals back now but dont know why. Did they copy back from the SD card or somewhere else in the amp. Going to take some time to figure this thing out.

I'm pretty sure it restores presets from somewhere on the amp. An SD card doesn't have to be in there.

And you might not be able to permanently import your midi - I'm not sure now - but I notice when I have my Jimi Hendrix SD in there, the preset will permanently import and save, ie: overwrite the current preset, but the SD card has to be in there for the backing track to be associated with it. And it could also be that I just haven't figured it out either.

Hey Guys,

brfrsc - Occasionally, we've seen Band Tracks lose their association with Presets. Not sure why. A system restore usually fixes the problem.
Regarding your MIDI file, did you place it in the MIDI folder on the SD card? If so, it should be available alongside every other Band Track on the amp or SD card. You don't have to import any audio/MIDI files to the amp. That's what the SD card is for. You can keep all of your audio/MIDI files on it permanently and the amp will see them in the same way it sees the internal tracks.
