I purchased a g-dec book from the music store today and placed the sd card in the slot, The list of songs come up and I am able to play them with no problem. I would like to be able to learn the song in small sections by repeating segments of the song in a looping type fashion. And practicing it over and over. But when I hit the loop button the whole song is the only thing that is loop. I need help on how to only loop segements of the song.

Hey s.mcnicol,

The G-DEC 3 gives you the abiliy to loop an entire audio file but unfortunately not sections.

Maybe consider chopping up the song in an audio editor and copying those sections to the SD card.

Or you can use the GDEC's inbuilt phrase trainer I believe.
I was able to record myself playing along with 30sec chunks of one of the backing tracks.

I don't remember how to do it, my GDEC isn't here with me, but it's something like
Play the backing track,
and then press record on the amp it says something like "recording all", as long as you don't hit your guitar in during this time you should have recorded the backing track onto the inbuilt phrase trainer.

Cutting the songs into chunks on something like Audacity is probably the best way to go if you want to save the loops for future use.

Thank you guys for the input, it's unfortunate this amp does'nt loop sections of the songs, this far it's the only complaint I have. Being a training amp it really should have this feature. Other then that it has good sound and the perfect little amp for me.
