Just curious since I've been looking into an external cab; what did you get, where did you get it and how much did you pay? Thanks in advance :)

I got the Marshall MG412 cab for $224.00 (new). It has four Celestion speakers and is 8ohm. It really works great with the GDEC. I just yesterday got a 5w tube head that also sounds great with this cabinet. I have read some bad reviews on this particular cabinet, but it works for me. I am pleased. You have to adjust your reverb and eq settings versus using the internal GDEC speaker. Basically turn down the bass and reverb for a really good sound. The midi tracks sound very good with the cabinet, the better the midi quality the better sound you get but that's with the internal speasker as well.

The compressor in medium setting and the noise gate set to super or high with the small hall reverb @ around 2-3 with Blackface 2 amp and no FX except reverb with my strat it sounds like a Blues JR. (well almost). Close enough for me.

In summary, that distant empty sound you get with the gdec internal speaker is gone with my cabinet setup. It even seems to take pedals better with the cabinet. (clean boost works very nice).
