I would like to pickup a G-dec 30 amp for the holidays and
I was wondering if there was anyway I could also use my Line6 podHD
with the amp ? is there a way to bypass the built in effects and just
amplify the output of the podHD ?

thanks
xD

The G-DEC 3 is totally programmable regards built in effects, etc. You can simply just set a clean/drive amp sim without any effects whatsoever If that's what you want, and use external effects instead. But it seems a little pointless to buy a modelling amp in that case unless it's for the backing track capabilities you seek! :)
Try and demo a G-DEC 3! You may be surprised at the built in "fully editable" effect patches that you can edit and store at will!

I agree with what dave said. I have the GDEC 3 Thirty and never use any effect pedals with it. I have gone in and made all my settings thru the Fuse software and really love the flexibility of being able to either enter into the studio and record straight into the board or when I gig with it not have to carry around a bunch of pedals. Another big plus is the fact that you have everything set up so you never have to make any adjustments due to a knob being hit while in transit. Hope that this helps. If you need any help IM me and I can walk you through some of the tricks I have learned to really get the most out of your GDEC.
ABS :D

I do like the backing tracks and the built in effects are real nice.
Just want to make sure that my podHD would still be usable if I wanted.

is there a way to bypass the preamp ? the podHD does have a 1/4" output
(line level I would guess).

Hey xD,

You can run your Pod HD into the aux input on the G-DEC 3. That way you'll have access to the tones from both units.
