I bought the Jimmi Hendrix Hal Leonard G DEC book and card. It worked initially. I then copied the SD card content into my computer for back up. Later I tried to use the SD card again and it says that no card is found. I have another SD card so I recorded something there and tried it on the G DEC, same message, no card found. Same thing with the acoustic Hal Leonard GDEC book and SD card. It worked initially and then I copied the files to my computer and then the GDEC can't read the card. Is something wrong with the GDEC? I must have used the SD card slot 3 or 4 times. Does copying the SD card to the computer somehow screw up the SD card info so it can't be read on the G DEC?

jleedo:

I am no expert but I will offer some advice. Sometimes, if the card was formatted in a computer, they can become corrupted. It is best, in my opinion, to let the G-Dec format the SD card. IF you have an extra SD card that you can spare (just in case it does not work), try the following: ***Don't use your Hal Leonard Cards for the following steps****

1. Put the EXTRA SD card into the amp and reformat it using the Utility menu from the amp.
2. Use FUSE to copy the files to the newly formatted SD card.
3. After everything is copied, check to see if the files are accessible by the amp!
4. Turn the amp off.
5. Turn the amp on and try to access the files again. Hopefully everything is still Okay.
6. If everything works AND YOU FEEL GUTSY, you could put the working EXTRA SD card in your computer, copy the files to your computer again and then try it in the amp. If at this point, the card is not recognized again, the computer may be corrupting it

ALSO, don't just remove the SD card from the computer. Right click on it and eject it first. After you do that, then remove the card.

Hopefully this will work for you.

Update

I went to Sam Ash today with my 2 Hal Leonard GDEC sd cards to try on their GDEC. And the GDEDC there recongized the card and I can play the songs. I think the sd card reader is no good.
I will call Fender tomorrow and see what they say.

I like the amp but the quality control and/or the stability of the design, I'm not impressed with. I also bought a Mustang 1 which was dead on arrival. I sent it back and now it works which is OK but that's two strikes.

I guess that I have been very lucky with mine. I have not had any hardware issues with mine yet (knock on wood). Just a big software issue where Fuse will not do a full backup with my iMac. I gave up on getting that to work. As a practice amp, it is great BUT I am strongly looking at getting a Blues Junior......

The great thing about Fender is the 5 year warranty. If you have any issues they are great at repairing/replacing your amp. I would recommend going to the dealer and having them get the warranty repairs started.
ABS :D

Hey Jleedo,

I"m sorry you have had issues with two new amps. Have you taken the G-DEC in for service?
