I heard the "new" model will be a Mustang with GDec features. ??

Haven't heard this though I speculated the same thing about a year ago. Supporting a consolidation/amp model standardization approach is the fact that Fender recently changed the Super Champ from its proprietary amp models to Mustang-compatible amp models in the X2 when they moved its production from China to Mexico. It's a shame in a way, the Gdec 3 was brought out with a great deal of fanfare and artist support. And I like the Gdec implementation of open and flexible base amp models better than the Mustang approach. On the other hand, I would prefer to see the G-dec concept evolve in some format rather than not at all....

Hi All

I was looking at buying a G-DEC 3 30 but on enquiring at the biggest Fender dealer in the N.W U.K I was told "this product is now discontinued".
And searching the UK online dealers seems to come up with same result, ie advertised but none in stock. (Adverts say "shown for comparison only") ?
There were a few USA web sites offering the G-DEC but the shipping cost is prohibitive, and none of the dealers seemed to have a lot in stock.

Shame if it has gone as it seemed to tick all the boxes for my needs.

Mike

Yeah it was a great box but it seems like are phasing them out and probably going to I think intergrate the G-DEC with the Mustang. Or I hope with NAMM in a few months they are working a new one.

And with that, my friend, you have hit the nail on the head. What Fender showcases come January should prove most interesting, IMHO. 8)

Could simply be that Sweetwater doesn't have any currently in stock. They tend to ONLY show what they have in stock rather than most places that show everything they carry even if they don't have any in stock.

I think you are reading too much into it. Loren has said before that these are not being discontinued...

Did'nt Guitar center buy sweetwater back at the first of the year? I bought a "used ephi les paul" that still had the plastic on it, the salesman said they were selling all "sweetwater stock as used.

Sounds like a rumor. Sweetwater is only an hour from me, and they're still in business and NOT owned by Guitar Center. They work from their salesroom/studio/warehouse in Fort Wayne, IN. No truth to being bought by Guitar Center. Guitar Center may have bought old merchandise Sweetwater was liquidating. FWIW

I just bought one at Guitar Center in San Marcos CA for $199. They had 8 in stock and one on the floor.

I just bought a G-DEC 3 30 this past week. I got a great buy on it for $180.00, $20 off the sticker price of $199 at GC. They told me they had 3 in stock, no 15's though. Now when I have looked online many major sites are saying no longer carried and even when I check GC online it brings up USED ones. So I suspect we're in for a new model I hope thats it anyway and if it is, I sure hope it comes out before my 30 days expires because I will take this back and get the new one!

Hurry up Fender release that version 4 please! Lemme know :D

Not only the 30, the 15 is also going away...

Fender site no longer list them, only the G-Dec Junior... there is some information on the 30 but if you click on product range, the 30 and 15 models are no longer there.

I got an e-mail from Guitar Center stating that they were selling the G-DEC 3 Thirty for $99.99 in store only while supplies last.

I bought a G-DEC 3 Thirty amp at GC for that price 11/8/2012. I just happened to be investigating this model after seeing one listed on CL. Went in the local GC and saw their shelf price was $100 below advertised street prices. Then when it was scanned it rang up $100 cheaper than the shelf sticker.

When you click on the G-dec link at Fender and select models in only lists the junior so it certainly looks like these are going away.

Used ones are selling for more than this on ebay. I started to buy all the local stock when I came across the deal but decided to just pass the info along to friends. One of my co-workers ran over and got one as soon as I called him.

I guess no longer available - and out of stock at the local GC here in Amarillo, Texas - I bought the last one they had - new in the box - Wednesday 11/14/2012 - for $99.00 + tax. What a deal; My son bought one last year in Dallas that was marked down to $269 ...... I liked his so now I have one. Marketing strategy for Christmas 2012 or is there a G DEC4 in the near future - maybe announced January 2013 at NAMM?????

I just got my black friday flyer from guitar center and they had the G-DEC 3 30 advertised for 99.99 stating while supply's last but i did not call my local G.C. to find out if they were in stock,i bought my G-DEC 3 30 at musicians friend back in august for 149.99 and i thought that was the final closeout price but if anyone can still get a new one from G.C. or anywhere else for 99.99 buy it as fast as you can!

That is really a fantastic deal for a G-DEC 3 30,i also bought the G-DEC 3 15 this past summer for 99.99 and i thought that was a great price.

I got the same flyer in the mail but neither of the GC's close to me have any. They have probably sold most if not all of the new GDEC 3s in their entire network. I would guess more than a few people will go in looking for that deal only to be disappointed. I don't need one but at $99 I was going to get another one anyway.
