I'm just glad I got mine when I did. I love the G-DEC 3 30.

My local fender dealer still has a few of these. Their stock isn't online, so it doesn't show up on web searches. I'm sure there are other places like this that still have some.

They haven't dropped the prices on them yet either. I already have a thirty, so I may just wait until they decide to get rid of them. If you really want one, let me know and I'll send you their info.

Guitar Center shipped the footswitch for the Mustang and they said it would work my new GDEC 3 Thirty - just picked it up today; according to other posts here function placement is the same - just some of the labels are different on the Mustang FSW. Will try it over the holiday. Paid total for a new GDEC 3 Thirty and the footswitch - $150 - such a deal.

where did you get a 30 for $150? I am considering one for a practice amp.

At GC here - I purchased the last one in stock - for $99 - the Mustang fsw was $50 - and it works on the GDEC 3 Thirty.

About a month a ago at least one of the Houston area Guitar Centers had them for $99 as well. But you had to buy it in-store to get the deal.

The G-DEC 3 30 and G-DEC 3 15 models are no longer listed on the Fender website. I guess this is "it" for them, then?

Really? What's this: Fender G-DEC 3 30

The 15 seems to have disappeared, though.

Now, whether you can actually find them out there in the retail channel, well, that's another story...

Edit: NAMM 2013 is just around the corner. Jus' sayin'. ;)

Hi Jeff...
You're right, the Fender website shows a GDec 30, but when I clicked on the models tab, all I got was a GDec junior. A Canadian thing????
Happy New Year.....

Happy New Year, Alex! You're right, the page is a little confusing. Even though the 30 is staring at us in the face (complete with specs and even a tab for the special editions), the only one shown with a price attached is the Junior.

I guess we could call them "unofficially but most likely discontinued"? ;)

Looks like! I'm glad that I got mine when the price was coming down, tho' unfortunately not when it hit rock bottom. On the bright side, I got a lot more playing done by buying earlier!
You know what's going to happen....There'll be a new and much improved GDec revealed and we'll feel that we can't live without it. Maybe storage for 250 presets!! Possibly bigger speaker(s)!!!
Holding my breath,
I remain.

Fortunately, the G-DEC Original and FSR data images (Country, Blues, Metal) are still available under the Support section. Download them while you can, they're all pretty fun to load up and play with!

As for a new G-DEC, besides making the modeling even better and using more popular amps, what could they improve?

Do they trend towards the Mustangs and use a truer 1x12 guitar speaker, or towards the Super Champs and use a head with cab option? Or stay more towards the PA side of things? (Once I figured the G-DEC out, as basically my first amp EVER, I finally realized that the "Volume" and "Guitar Tone" knobs were just an additional layer between the modeled amp's gain/tone stack/volume and the final sound - but it sure was confusing to me at first!)

Do they then use Bluetooth in addition to USB, and use software for iOS/Android, no longer requiring PCs? (To me, this would be most likely. Even Lego is going to do this now with their products).

And further, do they even put a tube into it?

Hi plethora, and welcome!
Interesting thoughts.....I'd be most interested in either a bigger speaker or an external speaker option in a new GDec version...probably the external speaker option as this gives more flexibility. I really like my GDec 30 with the line outs at present, but an external speaker option as well would be nice. 100 presets is enough for me! I would like a better overdrive - I know that this is really a fuse issue as well. I find the Overdrive as currently supplied doesn't work well with some of the amp models - too much distortion, no matter what I do with the gain and level controls on both the amp and the OD box. This could also mean that I can't figure it out properly  , but I prefer to think that it could be improved :) .
As to adding a tube as a smoothing effect, I do that with post processing of my recorded songs. I see the point of having it available up front in the amp, though.
Something to think about, definitely...
cheers,
Alex

Guitar Center called over the weekend as while doing an inventory update they finally found the G DEC 3 Thirty ULT-4 Footswitch that I had ordered over a month ago; took the Mustang fsw back Saturday and swapped it out for the real thing.

I don't think we will see a new G-DEC. I think it would only compete with the Fender Mustang v2.0 line of amps Fender is promoting. Since the G-DEC can do more than a Mustang with its jam tracks, looper etc.; it would have to be priced higher than a comparably sized Mustang amp, which would probably place the price too steep for the customer base, or else if the price is the same as a comparable Mustang who would buy the Mustang over the G-DEC?

The product was too good for its own good! But I am glad I have a 3 30 and plan on using it a long time!
