The DVD I got with my G-DEC 3 Thirty says to insert disc, wait a few moments and click on my computer. Windows 7 does not have a "my computer" setting. How do I load the disc.

I transferred forum stuff okay and Fender fuse from my old XP operating system, but I don't have Ableton Lite 8.

Any help would be appreciated. I am not very computer savvy.

Hi,
Try inserting the dvd and if windows media player comes up with various multimedia files listed, close it down (X, top right).
click on your windows start icon (bottom. left) and you'll get into windows explorer where the various drives should be listed. Right click on the dvd drive (which should say GDEC3TUTORIAL and from the menu choose open. You'll now have a listing of the DVD contents. Double click on the third party software file and double click on the Live_809_Fender file, then double click on the Live_809_Fender-PC (zipped) file and you'll see ableton_live_lite_809. Double clicking on this should start the installation.
Good Luck,
Alex

Hey GretschBear,

There's no "My Computer" option in Win 7 but did you try the "Computer" option that's located in the Start menu?

Yes, but it didn't offer an option to start the DVD.

Hi Steve,
You're welcome. I hope it works for you. I know how frustrating it can be migrating to a new computer O/S....especially if, as in my case, the old system hasn't been mastered yet!
With that said, I found Ableton to have a steep learning curve. I made a couple of versions of the theme for Chariots of Fire (which impressed my kids. I think), but have left it alone ever since. I'm going back to it eventually, probably this winter when some of us hibernate in Canada.
Cheers,
Alex
