I don't have the Hendrix book, but I have several of the other Hal Leonard G-Dec books. On the ones I have, the SD card is formatted just like any other card for the G-Dec. It has an "audio" folder and a "presets" folder. The presets are, as you would expect, in the presets folder. If you insert the SD card into the G-Dec, you can import the presets from the amp or with Fuse. With Fuse, go into your media library and make sure the button for SD Card is selected. Alternatively, you can mount the card in your computer if you have the proper adapter. I normally copy the presets from the original card to my computer, and then to larger SD card that I keep all my presets and backing tracks on. Then, import from that second card when I want to use the presets.

thank you, but I do see the wav files in the audio folder. However, the presets folder is empty on my computer. The instructions in my book tell me to hold exit for 3 seconds then make 7 selections until I get to the import section than turn the wheel to import.Even in doing this, no files could be found it tells me.This was bought new so something seems a little odd here.

I wonder if I can email you the files to insert into the preset folder? I'd be happy to try.

However, I think you should exchange the whole thing, it definitely sounds like its defective. Those files should be visible on your computer when you check that folder. They are either gone or corrupted.

Thank you for the email surfaday.I have been jamming with jimi tonight (one of my top 3 wishes if he were alive of course). So things are in order except the fact I cannot load the backing tracks into the gdec. For example I saved the preset and the backing for the song is there only when the sd card is as well. However, when I take it out it stated "band part missing".Do you know what to do there? Thanks!!

Hey Freddy,

Those Band Tracks are located on the SD card so if you remove it, you're removing the Band Tracks as well. It's kind of like taking your key out of the ignition.

Regarding your missing Presets. It sounds like the card is defective. You should return it, unless you have it working now.

Hi
I also have just bought the Hendrix G-Dec Play along book and a few others, and sadly I can confirm by checking on my PC that the presets folder on the SD is indeed totally empty. I have the backing and playalong tracks but not the presets.

is it possible someone could zip them up and send them to me also?

My email is brian@bbeuken.freeserve.co.uk

I'll check the others I picked up as well, though the SRV one had all its files in place (and is brilliant aside from not having Voodoo Chile and Pride and Joy there..a shocking ommision for an SRV fan).

I bought the Hal-Leonard Hendrix book with the CD before I got my Gdec. The CD has backing tracks but no presets. I would really like to have the presets myself, if someone was so inclined: specracer986(at)gmail.com
I'm hesitent to buy the Gdec copy of the book and get an empty sd card.

Just wondering if there any plans on making anymore of those types of books?

I just purchased a Hal Leonard Jimi Hendrix book and the SDCARD had no files in the presets directory. I emailed Fender a minute ago. Needless to say, I'm disappointed after spending 26 bucks.

Anyway, If anybody has the preset files and can email them to me it would be appreciated - rickloweglobal@aim.com.

Hi lowefactor,

Please email us with your Forum name, real name and address and the text from this post and we will be happy to arrange for a replacement card. It sounds like the one you received is defective. Thanks.
