after reading some posts here i've decided to get a wah pedal to use with my g-dec 30. i'll get the the utl-4 also. you can tell i'm having fun with this g-dec 30!! and me mustang I found a home with me theremin plugged into it. yep, neighbors think martians have landed!!

here goes the beginner's question, what is a good wah pedal that isn't too expensive or hard to use for a beginner and the g-dec 30?

i went ahead and ordered the 4-button footswitch. i'll wait and see what others ay about wah pedal. does seem like many here like that "cry-baby" pedal.

did i mention how cool this g-dec is for me? my strat sounds so cool now! certainly not my playing ability -- will be someday -- but not quite there -- onward...

I got the latest vox wah, works fine for me. Which ever you choose, make sure it has a true bipass, otherwise it will kill the tone when in the off position. Very important. My friend had a dunlop and didn't like it.

I have a Morley Bad Horsie 2, and what I like about it is it automatically springs up, so I don't have to think about pushing the pedal in both directions. I have a hard enough time with my hands, I need all the help I can get when my feet get into the equation. As far as how that particular pedal ranks, I think its pretty well regarded, but I can hardly tell a difference between brands, and we're using it through a dang modeling amp anyway!

One more thing, and I'm just repeating the marketing because, again, if I wanted awesome tone I wouldn't look to my G-DEC, but Morley says they boost or brighten the throughput so it is not true bypass, their claim is any extra link in the chain colors the output, true bypass or not. Whatever.

I just like the return spring.

thanks for the tips and insight.

ironic you mention the spring issue. i recently lost a lot of use in one foot due to my constant companion, ms, and would need to use my other foot, the weakest one.

point taken about it being a modeling amp and also i haven't been playing long. i do have plans in the future to get me one of those legendary fender amps. in the meantime, i'll use it to get me foot used to it.

so like thanks for info...
