Hey Guys,

There are no plans to discontinue the G-DEC 3.

Thanks Loren! That's very reassuring.

I got lucky, when the price of the 30 watt did come down, I had enough time left on my 30 day satisfaction guarantee to return the 15 watt and get the 30. I'm happy I did. Lots better tone, and wow, louder too. My first amp over 15 watts.

And get this, when I opened my "new" 30 watt, I found it had been bought and returned. The band tracks were all missing and the hiss made it unplayable. Seemed as though someone had botched either a firmware upgrade or an edition change.

I fixed it by reinstalling the firmware, I wanted the blues edition anyway, so I changed it over, and I dropped a casual, not scathing email to GC informing them of what they were selling for new.

I suggested I deserved at least a free pro-plan, their extra warranty, or a new amp.

I got a call from the manager of the GC I bought the amp from the next day and he said he'd do anything to make it right so I'd be happy. We settled on a new amp in a box unopened, and he got it in 2 days, and when I picked it up, they gave me free pro-plan coverage anyway!

So that was a $299 price match from $399 plus 10% of the difference, so $289, and then a new amp and free pro-plan, all at the $289 price point!

I'm very pleased and happy with GC. The exchange happened last night and the manager even called me to day to make sure the amp was what I expected. '

Wow. That was a great experience.

I just saw, earlier today, that the G-Dec 3 15 was 199 at Musicians Friend. That's a great price. I'm glad it isn't going away. :D

Just ordered the 15 from Amazon today. Hoping I did the right thing. I already have a Peavey Vypyr 30 and mainly want the G-DEC for the computer interface and recording abilities.

G Dec 3's are now on sale at Musicians Friend - G Dec "blowout". Disappointing. I bought my G Dec w/the expectation that the flaws in the amp would be addressed through firmware updates, the last of which was over a year ago. Seems less likely to happen now. I appreciate Fender support and love that Fender staff actually read the discussion boards, but won't believe that this amp isn't being phased out until I see a firmware update.

I love mine. I have the Blues edition and it is one sweet amp! I have recorded with it and used the line outs when I have gigged it and have had nothing but positive experiences with it!
ABS :D

I Like my Fifteen but am considering returning it for the Thirty Blues edition. Only a $100 difference at Amazon. She is mainly for practice at home and primarily sits on my computer desk for tinkering. Do you think I should make the exchange?

Also I have not gotten into recording with it, does the USB interface work for recording into Abelton Lite or do I need to run a seperate interface?

Thanks,

Dante (AKA Don Dons)

Just bought the thirty today for 299 with a 15% off coupon. Don't know how to use it yet but should be fun learning.

dprimm: The footprint of the Thirty is quite a bit larger than the Fifteen if you're talking about desktop space. Its fine on the bedroom of office floor, but a desk? Might take up a lot more space. Having said that, I'm glad I returned my Fifteen and got the Thirty. Better tone with the 10" speaker and tweeter and bigger cab, not to mention way louder, which comes in handy on those rare times I'm playing with someone else.

I haven't done any recording yet but I believe it runs right through the usb.

redsoxfan: welcome to the club!
