The subject says it all. I'm trying to sort out what are the differences, advantages and disadvantages, of G-DEC 3s vs. Mustangs.

I'm deliberately cross posting similar questions in both Forums, since I expect each camp to have its own bias, but I'm only interested in the factual, tangible differences.

TIA!

John

The Gdec has an sd card slot for unlimited tracks you can play along with. It has a 2 line outs that you can run to a pa or powered speaker for unlimited output. It also has 100 presets that can have a track assigned to each one.

The M3 has speaker outs for powering speaker cabs, more power, although with the line outs on the Gdec it's really unlimited.

I really like the Gdec for my needs. I especially like playing along with my favorite songs and tracks and matching up the tones to the tracks. I also like it's portability...10" speaker and tweater and doesn't weigh very much.

When I played a Mustang II, I really liked what I heard. But I also felt like I was getting only "half" of what a G-Dec 30 offered, if that makes sense. And it's not just the backing tracks or the feeling of playing with or over a "band." There's so much more. 8)

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I'll definitely check out those links, JoeR.

I checked out the "G-DEC 3 Advanced Owner's Manual" and I was WOWed with what it can do.

It looks like a fantastic tool for one-on-one guitar instruction as well as being a great practice tool.
