I am disgusted in Fenders general ability to present a product/software that works.

1) I have been using computers for music production for over 10 years. In the year 2011 it should not take over an hour to install and troubleshoot the installation of a piece of software.
That is how long it took to get my G Dec 3 working with my Mac Book Pro. All because Fender shipped out of date or Beta software that does not work.
I hate to think what a novice would have ended up doing, probably calling Fender and wasting valuable customer service time.

2) I created a FUSE account, no problem. It shows me as logged in when I have Fuse open.

So I click on 'community' in FUSE and now I am forced to log in again (using the same Fuse account user name and password.
WTF?

So then I attempt to create a Fender 'community' over at Fender.com... hold on, didn't I just click on 'community' in FUSE and log in?

OK I'll play along. So now I try to create a new 'community' account...... #*@%!!! It wont let me! 'unknown error' Well this is the error..... I am using the e mail account that I used for my FUSE account AND IT WONT FU**ING LET ME! I am forced to use a different e mail account

SO now I have 3 accounts??????

Fender: your IT /software writing department SUCKS.

It's a good job the amp is awesome otherwise I would be pissed.

ALSO: Fender, don't ship out software that doesn't work. Tell people that they need to create a FUSE account FIRST and download the latest install updates(I'm talking Mac here)

God knows what mess I'll encounter when I go to install this on my PC.

Hey Teleman_24,

I"m sorry you had such a bad experience with the amp and software. Usually, installing the software and getting an account setup isn't such an ordeal. You mentioned the amp shipping with an out of date version of Fender FUSE. Can you tell me what version that was?

Hey, at least the OP can get his Fuse to log onto the Fuse website. I can't even do that. It just keeps on flashing that its connecting.

But I will say that I am working with Fender Tech Support via email and they have been very helpful, albeit unsuccessful. Their email advice has never been more than a one day turn around and its great to get that kind of support.

The software must work for a lot of people. I'm sure they'll eventually get mine working.

Walt

I just want to thank Fender for being there. Sure, it took a while for my Fuse software to get up and running, but woo hoo! As of tonight, it is! And that is thanks to tech support.

In a day when some tech support amounts to searching the web for discussions on troubleshooting a problem, (can you say cell phone firmware upgrade?), thank you, Fender for being there.

Sure, the product is not perfect, but you were there till it ran right.

I cannot remember what version of FUSE I put on my Mac from the factory disc that I got with the amp., I just know that when I created and logged into my FUSE account the first thing I saw was two big boxes with the latest Mac and PC downloads and so I downloaded and re - installed the Mac version and everything worked O.K.

Basically the drivers did not get loaded from the factory disc. O.K. I understand that installs don't always go smoothly, but I suspect that the Mac installer is badly designed when I see all the other problems I noted (including Fender being slow to provide Mac support in the first place).

I would recommend new users not to bother with the disc at all. Just go to FUSE, create an account and download the relevant software for your platform and re boot. Then when you have FUSE open again just connect the amp.

I'm with you. I had problems with the drivers too, and I'm on a PC. I can't remember what the solution was though. Yes, without some troubleshooting experience, it would have been way harder, but I'm sure we're the exceptions.
