I'm not sure how to record properly from my G-dec3-15 on my laptop using Audacity?
If I hook up the usb cable and record, only my guitar gets recorded. How do I record both the guitar and bandtrack as I hear it from my amp speaker.
Obviously Audacity is recognzing my amp in the usb port. It even shows when I go to Sound and see the devices being used.

Try running a cable from the headphone jack on the GDec to your computer. I did this on my GDec 15 and ran the signal into a Zoom R16 and it was fine, though I finally upgraded to a GDec 30 as I found the line out and balanced cables give a better sound.

I don't know what the Zoom device is, but I guess you're impedance matching the headphone output to the mic input of the computer? My laptop only has a mic jack, and not line-in so I would need someting like that. Is the G-dec3-15 meant to record with the band tracks, or am I expecting to much?

the Zoom R16 is a multitrack recorder and converts analog to digital. Unfortunately, I've never tried recording from the GDec directly via usb into Audacity....sorry.
good luck,
Alex

Hey Starboy,

Unfortunately, you won't be able to record Band Tracks from the amp to the computer through USB. If a Band Track is playing, the audio playback engine is being used by the amp, making it unavailable to the computer.

The Band Tracks are just standard WAV files. The best way to get them into any DAW would be to deal with the WAV files themselves and just import them into your "session". You can download all Band Tracks from the FUSE Community

Hey Freddy,

Audacity doesn't use the ASIO protocol and instead uses Windows built-in sound driver. As with any other audio app, you simply open the audio setup/preferences window and select which devices you want to use for input and which device you want to use for output. It's important for the amp to be connected and powered on prior to doing this, otherwise the amp may not be seen as an input option.

If you still can't get it working, give us a call.

I"m glad you discovered Audacity. Regarding AmpliTube Fender LE, you can download it directly from IK's site once you've created an account there and registered it using the supplied serial number.
