Hey all. I'll start with the obligatory apology for posting a topic that may have already been covered, and an invitation to direct me to said topic...

I want to be able to play music from my digital library using my PC's soundcard and speakers, and play my guitar with the GDEC plugged in via USB. I know this kind of defeats the purpose of using an amp with backing track capabilities, but sometimes I want to do this. The problem is when the GDEC is connected, it seems to take over all audio duties. All sounds come out of the amp rather than the speakers. Anyone else deal with this already? I'm using Windows 7 on a Dell Latitude and the stock internal sound device.

Thanks.

Try going to the control panel and find the sounds and audio. You should find a way to make the computer the default sound device and it will override the Gdec. You can always disconnect the usb, but then you cant control fuse.

JoeR is right Gdec sets itself up as the default playback device and you should be able to change that via the 'sound' option in the control panel. On my PC (Win 7) I can also right click on a speaker icon in the lower right hand corner of the Win 7 taskbar that brings up a dialog box with a "playback devices" option. I can click that to display all of the playback devices... then a right click on the PC audio playback device brings up a menu box with the 'default' option.

Hey, thanks for the replies guys. I'll try out your suggestions this evening. I had everything working the way I wanted on my XP machine, but I got a new Windows7 laptop, and haven't got it all sorted out yet. I haven't been able to record with the new machine yet either, but I'm hoping to get all of these things resolved tonight.
