One of these came up for sale locally for $100. Night go for $80.

But part of description: "Front Input is broken, the back input works just as well as the front though."

Does the rear input do the same as the front input?

Also, I'm not interested in programming, etc. Are there enough presets and drum beats to keep this beast interesting as a jam along amp? Any advantage with this GDec 30 compared to just jamming along with my other amps using backtracks on the Internet?

Thanks

The G-DEC30 has both a front guitar input and a rear input in case two people want to play along at the same time or in a student/teacher situation. You wonder how that front input got broken, but things happen. Yes, the rear input does the same as the one on the front. I usually keep my cable plugged into the rear to keep it out of the way. The G-DEC30 is interesting because the player can set the backing tempo to slow, fast, or anywhere in between. You can set the key, whether E, F, G, G#, A, Bb, C, C#, D, D#. You can set your amp to tweed 1,2,3; blackface 1,2,3; dyna-touch 1,2,3,4; British 1,2,3; modern 1,2,3; acoustic. As you go from versions 1 to 2 to 3 etc. the gain is increased. You can set it to large array of effects or none at all: several delays, wahs, fuzz, overdrive, etc. or none--too many to list. I like all the variables that you can set in one package, but if you're jamming to tracks on the Internet, that may be all you need. I enjoy playing rhythm and lead to the two or three bluesier progressions that I like through a 2x12 extension speaker cab. It might be worth your while to audition it to see if it would expand your playing possibilities.

all tube.

Thanks for the response. You've provided a comprehensive means for me to get my head around this beast. I now have some perspective.

Re the 'broken input'. Maybe he means 'not working' as in loose connection. I often pass on used guitars, amps, etc, that mention a 'missing knob' or whatever. I visualize a piece of equipment tossed in a garage with 'stuff' piled on top of it.
