Hi All,
I posted earlier with my foot switch not working and found that the switch is fine. With the amp in question now, is there a hard reset so I can try and start from scratch? I've reloaded to the Blues version without issue and have the latest firmware version. Nothing has changed the foot switch not working. There is nothing on the footswith display when I plug it in and it does nothing at all.
As another observation, when the amp is on and has completed it's start up (Screen shows FENDER, then BLUES, then 2010 FMIC and then goes to the regular menu display) once it shows the 2010 FMIC screen the TAP buttom begins to flicker and even seems to match the beat of some of the backing tracks.

Anyways, anyone seen anything like this? Other than the foot switch, the amp works perfect. I sure would like to get this fixed and be able to use the switch.

I just went through the Utility section on the amp and there was no Factory Restore as there is on the older G-DEC. Odds are that you need to reload all the original settings the same way you loaded the Blues Version, everything should be on the original disc that came with the amp.

You mention your previous post, where you evidently didn't get the answer you wanted. If the footswitch is not compatible with this amp, it's not an amp problem or a footswtich problem - it just ain't gonna work. I know the footswitch is listed as an accessory on Fender's site, but Musician's Friend doesn't list the G-DEC 3 Fifteen for use with the footswitch, just the 3 Thirty and the B-DEC Thirty.

I think before you drive yourself crazy, you just need a definitive answer from Fender as to whether or not the footswitch is compatible.

Loren from Fender has already confirmed that your footswitch is compatible with your G-Dec - refer to this post:-

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=56531

By performing the upgrade to the Blues version & at the same time installing the firmware upgrade, you have effectively restored your amp to "factory standard". No need to do another factory reset.

In your previous post regarding your footswitch problem you mentioned that you measured the voltage at the end of the lead from the amp to footswitch & had a voltage of approx. 3.3 volts - this is correct as Loren from Fender has previously advised other users on this forum.

I'd be interested to know how you eliminated the footswitch as being faulty, as from what you are describing here your amp seems to be doing everything it's supposed to be doing?

DiscoPhil,
To answer my troubleshooting method to eliminate the switch, I took it to the local Sam Ash and plugged it in to a G-DEC 3 30. It lit up and I figured the switch was fine. I brought it back home and just filed it in the shelf and figured I had bigger issues. After looking through the Fender recomended repair centers I found one within 1/2 mile from my home here in Anaheim. I took the switch there to see if they could check it out. Matt, at Futura said they don't repair these new switches but contacted Fender anyways and they sent a new repacement switch. So, in a few days I got the call, the switch was in, brought it home crossed my fingers, plugged it in and it works perfectly.
Kudos to Matt at Futura (hell of a great guy, obviously a good tech by all knowledge, the amps, pedals and gear there for repairs, and one of the few small businesses still able to make it here in California) and to Fender for the great customer service getting me taken care of in less than a week.
Now that that is all in line, it's time for me to take full advantage of this amp and all of it's available options and bring my playing up to par. My timing sucks and this thing is a great tool to get me in line.
Thanx to all for your inputs, I guess I could have dug deeper into the forum for my answers. This is a wealth of information from all of you who have worked through those things that may not come too easy to some of the rest of us.

Thanx Again ERIK
