I have just purchased the GDEC3 30 in the last couple of days.

I have downloaded the Blues.zip file from the Fender site and extracted them to to the root drive of the SD card. Upon booting the amp recognises the card and that the new blues image is available for loading.

I press start and it deletes the HD files and reformats, creates directories and then begins to upload the new blues files.

However, when it hits track 04, it reports a "checking file size" and then "file size error" and stops the process. I have tried several times to do the whole process over again (unzip file, copy the 3 files to root of SD, reboot amp etc etc) with the same end result each time.

I have reloaded the original GDEC image file back in to the amp but would like to be able to load the Blues tracks instead.

Is anyone else aware of this problem and/or has found a fix for same?

Try downloading the zip file again. Some people have gotten incomplete downloads the first time.

Also, make sure you've updated your firmware to ver. 1.04 before trying to install.

Many thanks for that feedback and help on the issue.

It turned out it was the media card that was the problem. I went down to Harvey Normans and purchased a Class 6 SDHC 8Gb card of the type I use in my Nikon D7000 DSLR for HD capture.

I reloaded all the files and firmware update without any further error messages or problems.

It seems the GDEC3 30 amp that I have does not like a lower Class 4 SD card for some reason.

Never mind we are back on track again with the FSR - BLUES Content loaded and the firmware updated to gdec3_v1_04.upd so all is good!

How do we check the current firmware version on the G-DEC amps? I have searched high and low, read through the manuals, FAQ, and this forum but cannot find that simple piece of information. I am sure I am just missing it and would like to know before uneccesarily flashing the firmware if it's already running the most recent version.

It should be listed on the flash screen when you turn on the amp, after the "Fender" one.
