I was looking to buy a practice amp and was looking at the GDEC 3. Would you recommend them? Are they any good? I would appreciate your feedback :)

I pre-ordered two way back before they even hit the market. I use them for playing out, using backing tracks and I love these amps. With the SD cards, four-button footswitch and FUSE software, there's no limit to what you can do with these amps!

Short answer: Yes, but as a second amp, not as a sole amp.

Longer answer: My G Dec "blues version" is the most fun I've had practicing since I used to "jam" over Miles Davis and Buddy Guy CDs in the early 90s, when I was first trying to learn improvisation on guitar. It's *almost* like having a band waiting for you in your basement when you get home.

That said, it's not perfect, there's a fairly steep learning curve and the G Dec really doesn't have a "voice" of its own. It's an amalgam (if that's the right word) of different voices, all anchored to some classic Fender sounds, but it's not really an "amp" in the traditional sense. Some may see that as a good thing.

That said, it's a fun learning tool and can be a great companion to a more traditional amp. 8)

Very well said, Tom. All I can add is that I frequently sit down to my Blues Version 3 Thirty and the next thing I know, it's two hours later and I'm missing supper! With 100 presets, you can really lose track of time.

I just got mine on Friday and I can say without reservation that I would highly recommend one of these little gems in a heartbeat! I am so loving this amp. Sounds gorgeous and the ability to not only have a band to play along with but to tewak the settings to what you want is icing on the cake!
ABS :D

I got my G-DEC 15 just this weekend and it is a blast. Had a Crate then a Marshall 15 DFX and this Fender is way more fun and versatile. With all the possible options available, I already switched it into the Blues Model, you will become a hermit playing, playing and playing. I’m never going to do more than fool around and play with a couple friends so the 15 was plenty for me.
Go for it man, you will be very happy.

I have had my GDEC 30-3 for six months now. I don't play in a band and my friends that do play are busy most times. Has a beginner I am having a blast with this amp. To me wether it is better or worse sounding then other fender amps does not matter. I have an FM65 and a BDRI. Love both of those amps for different reasons. The thing about the gdec is that you have something to play along to. My timing is getting better by the day. Like I said I am a beginner but not new to the guitar. Played forty years ago and am happy with my newest amp.

P.S. The gedc is my goto amp when I am home.

I like the GDec line. they are fun to jam along with.

However, like anything digital they 'get old fast'. I've bought two used ones for less than half of what they were when new. If I put a l 'want ad' in our equivalent for Craigs list for a G DEC, I'd probably get one for $125 or so.

Don't know about that, went on ebay and couldn't find a single used Gdec 3 series. Seems like most are happy with them, not perfect, but lots of fun

With all the settings and effects that can be adjusted in fuse it can help a new person hear and play with these amps and effects. This gives you an idea what is available and how it might sound. Instead of buying products I don't like I am able to learn all the fun stuff available to a new guitarist without spending a fortune. Gdec is cool for me thanks.

Not Ebay. Put in a local ad . Get the 'last' model...not the current If you buy it new it will be the 'last' model as soon as Fender issues an update.
