I need a USB cable that's longer than the one supplied with my new G-DEC amp. My problem is that the amp's power cord and the power strip I plug it into isn't long enough to put the amp where I would ideally like it to be, and I have no power outlets there. I get it as close to my computer as I can, but when I plug in the USB cable, it drapes across my keyboard. It isn't long enough to reach to the USB ports on the back of my computer.

Anybody got an idea where I can get a longer cable of the same size that came with it?? Or, is it okay to run an extension cord to the amp, to put it where I want to??

Use an extension chord, that should do it

Okay, thanks. I wanted to be sure about the extension cord because I know that some electronic devices can be damaged by using one. I'd really like to put the Fuse software on my laptop and use that, but that'll have to wait until I have the bucks to buy a router, so it can share my cable internet hookup.

I have used a USB extension cable for a year now with no adverse affects. It works fine!

Yep. I found one of those at Radio Shack Saturday. That should solve my problem. Thanks to all for the advice!!
