Just wanted to report my trusty GDEC 3 30 is at my local music store (Wold Music Nashville). After a little over a year of use the headphone jack is stuck. It will play through the headphones but not through the speaker. Not having the GDEC 3 really has shown how much I use the amp. The backing tracks can keep me playing a longggg time. I have 3 tube amps sitting here - Blues Junior modded, Kustom Coupe 36 and 1972 Music Man one thirty 212HD and all I want is my GDEC 3 back! That and a Mustang III. I'll keep y'all posted to what happens.

Thanks for the Update Billy. Can they do the repair or did they have to send ito off. I'm kind of afraid to try the jack myself out of fear it might lock out the speaker too. At least I have not had a reason to need to listen through the headphones.

I expect to hear back sometime this week. I use the headphone a lot for recording. I also figured better to use it while under warranty and see if it works or not. I'd love to start seeing the use of metal jacks for the guitar input and earphone.

I've been afraid to try mine, as I don't really want to be without the amp, but I guess it's better under warranty than after. I may try mine the next time I play.

Billy: are they able to repair in the shop or did they have to send it off?

They could not repair it but replaced in a matter of days. Super fast! I backed up my old one and I'm getting ready to restore the new one so it runs like my old one. Thanks to Fender for the quick turn around!

My theory is that the earphone plug has a connector that is touching and sending a signal to the speaker until a headphone cable is plugged in. The two connectors separate when the pole is in the hole disabling the signal to the speaker. If whatever is holding those two pieces of metal together breaks then you have an amp that only works with headphones because the connection to the speaker is lost. Therefor the weakest link is whatever is holding those two connections together.

Glad you were able to get a replacement fairly quickly, Billy.

Billy,
I am glad to hear that! I owe you a huge Thank You!! Your video on youtube really sold me on this amp. My wife just got me the Blues edition and I can't stop playing it! I have only just started to scratch the surface of what this gem can do! IMO Loren, if you are listening LOL you guys at Fender should send Billy some swag! He is a great product reviewer/salesman for the GDEC! Once I get a few good tracks recorded I will post them on my ReverbNation account for all to hear! Again, Thanks Billy and the Fender team!
ABS :D
